Diane Dobbs Obituary

DOBBS, Diane Marie, of Tucson, went home to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on April 22, 2009. Diane was born on May 14, 1962 to Joyce (Winslow) Atkisson and Paul Atkisson. Diane was preceded in death by her grandparents, Charles and Margaret Winslow, Joseph and Elsie Atkisson, and her late husband, Bob Campbell. As a child Diane lived in Italy and Turkey where her father was stationed with the USAF. Diane also lived in Texas and Alabama before settling in Tucson. Diane was employed at the University of Arizona for 17 years in the Property Dept. Diane had a heart of compassion for the hurting and homeless, she touched many lives with her care and concern. Diane leaves us with a void in our hearts, we will miss that beautiful smile and the wonderful laugh. We are thankful that she is now beyond the pain and suffering and is at peace in the arms of Jesus. Diane is survived by her fiance, Rick Sisco; mother, Joyce Zell (Les), of Tucson, AZ; father, Paul G. Atkisson, of Alex City, AL; sons, Chris Dobbs (Andrea), Justin Campbell and Trey Campbell; granddauther, Kaylee Dobbs; halfsister, Carrie Atkisson; halfbrother, Thomas Atkisson; as well as other family members and friends. It's so hard for me to believe that 2 years have gone by since Diane went to be with Jesus. As I look back at all the things that have happened in this world I would not want Diane to leave Heaven to come back to this old world .With that said Diane is missed and always will be missed. As we talk about Heaven each of us needs to look at our own lives and ask the question I'm I ready to meet Jesus is my heart were it needs to be. If we are, we will one day be with Jesus & Diane, WOW what a exciting thought. Gods Grace is sufficiant for all of us.

Well 47 years ago today I gave birth to a precious baby girl. Her dad and I had decided to name her Diane Marie Atkisson. He was sationed in Greenland at the time of her birth. Diane was a beautiful bady and child . We dedicated her to the Lord on Nov.25,1962 after her Dad returned home. I had given her to the Lord Jesus before her birth. He knew her in my womb before she ever was born. His plans for her was for good and to prosper her. Diane was a happy and very loving child. She always had a smile and a happy laugh. Never gave me any trouble as a child. She had strayed away from God in adult years."But God" In his love and Mercy has welcomed her home to be with him. When Diane was in ICU(5 weeks) I would pray with her, love on her and sing my prayers in her ear. I would say honey If you can hear me Just say Jesus in your heart he will forgive all sin and you are white as snow. She would shake her head yes. Sometime tears. I choose to believe tears of joy. I would say honey can you give mommie kiss today and she would pucker up and kiss me. Three times she let me know her heart was right with God. So Good Night down here was Good Morning in Heaven. If any of Dianes friend do not know the Lord Jesus as their personal savior I would be happy to pray and talk with you. I would like to thank all our friends and prayer partners in the stats and overseas. for your prayers, they were not in vain.So Diane Mamma will meet you in heaven.
Enjoy Mam Ma & Pa Pa

I just want to say thank you everyone that help, sat with, and prayed for my mother. It is so hard to realize that she is gone and it feel like it is still a bad dream. But we have to do what she would have wanted us to do and that is live on, live right, and live good. I have learned more about how important family, friends, and loved ones are. They are all we have and enjoy every moment. Mamma was a very beautiful woman and very smart. She had and put a lot of passion in the things that she was interested in. She has alway been my backbone and made me stay the path when I run into problems or was about to make a mistake. She taught me so much that has and will continue to make me a better man.

Love you,
Mamma

Diane was so very special to me in so many ways. Joyce is and was my best friend we spent a lot of time together. Diane, Joyce, my daughter Missy & son Toby all went to San Deigo together we had such a wonderful time. Diane was so good to my kids and loved them so much.
I loved Diane's laugh I could always get her to smile and laugh, we had so many specil times together. It was always easy for Diane and I have have good heart to heart converstions. I was to meet with her the day she went to ICU, I'm so sorry that I didn't come to Tucson just a few days earlier. Diane is with God and I know for sure there are no more battles for her to overcome no more pain or suffering. Diane will forever be missed. I will someday hear that wonderful laugh again. Missy, Toby and I will be with you again in heaven dancing on streets of gold.

Our Hearts Are Grieving Not For You But For Us. I Will Forever Carry In My Heart The Joyful, Energetic Little Girl Who Was Always Smiling Playful And Happy As I Am Certain You Are Now In Heaven With Loved Ones Gone On Before. We Will Miss You But Glad That Your Suffering Is Over. Aunt Ruthie And Uncle Tom [Joyce, Les, And Paul]This Is For You; Oh God,My God, You Have Taken My Daughter Away And I Am Numb With Shock. I See Her dresses Still In The Closet,And Her Dear Shoes There Upon The Floor. Her House Is Filled With Her Presence, The Things She So Recently Used And Touched And Loved. The Pans In The Cabinets. The Refrigerator Still Humming, How Quickly You Called Her, How Mercifully. She Simply Stopped What She Was Doing And Looked Up-And You Were There.
