Dear Dad, I miss you still. And, miss the love you could bring to the family. I know you are in a better, safer place. Felt you should know you I finally finished my BS - life long journey. Of note, you and Mom said it would only happen if it was something I wanted to study. Who knew it would be IT. Your zest for learning were a spark. I don´t have the answers to life, the universe, and everything, but I know one thing - Dads are important and you´re mine (if only in the spirit today). And, yes I am re reading Lord of the Rings - my Tolkien knowledge remains vast, one of those topics we just have to agree to disagree on. Love you

For years while growing up, I slept on the other side of the wall from the piano. Shortly after the movie The Sting came out, Dad decided he would learn all the Scott Joplin rags. As Dad embarked on this musical journey, I observed that a mood change would occur through out the house when ragtime was played. Nothing wrong with any other genre, but ragtime lifted the mood, brightened the day, or gave one the feeling of I can do this (whatever "this" might be). Of note, unannounced and uninvited our family dog, Luke (pure bred German Shepard), would come sit at attention both ears up, head cocked at the piano for the duration of ragtime piano practice. Thanks Pop for sharing your love of music with us. It's one of the many fond gifts and memories which you have left us. I will miss you, but I am glad you suffering has ended as well. May the Lord bless you and keep you. Love always and forever, your son.

To the Bartlett Family:My heartfelt sympathies go out to the family and friends during this difficult time. I hope that the promise in 1 Thessalonians 4:14 can bring comfort. Knowing that there's a hope for the ones we have lost in death can be so reassuring.

The feelings of helplessness can seem overwhelming when coping with the loss of a dear loved one. The pain and grief can seem unbearable at times. However, you can draw comfort from the Inspired Word at Rev. 31:4.
