We were so sorry to learn of John's death. John and Leona were neighbors of mine when I was growing up in KC. Then both Steve and I worked with John at Twentieth Century. We always loved his quick wit and friendly smile. Our thoughts are with the family.

Leona we just heard about John's tragic accident.
We are so sorry for the loss to you and your family. Have missed John's quick wit since you all left Kansas City so many years ago.

Although we didn't know John well, we own a condo unit in the same community where John and Leona live. The evening before John's tragic death, we joined a small group of neighbors to chat, enjoy a glass of wine, snacks, and watch the sun set. John was one of those in the group. I remember the moment the sun dropped below the horizon, John stood up and said, "What a beautiful sunset!" He went on to say that one of the things he loved about living in Tucson was being able to watch the lovely, colorful sunsets here. How sad it was to learn that John died after being hit by a vehicle while riding his bike the very next day.
