Merrill Family,
Although I've only worked with Mike at NOAO for five years, he was such an inspiration and mentor to me. I called him my "Obiwan Kenobi" as he was most wise in his advice and offerings of comfort. I will miss him very much and will think of your family often.

Boosik and family,
George and I were deeply saddened to hear about Mike's death. We remember fondly those early years when our kids were all little and our group got together often for support and encouragement. We hold you in our hearts and prayers.
