Michael COLLINS Obituary

COLLINS, Michael Kent After a valiant fight against heart disease, it is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Michael on June 16, 2017 in Tucson, Arizona at the age of 65. Mike was born in Hobbs, New Mexico on August 17, 1951 to Anna Jane and Ralph Collins. He graduated in 1969 from Lovington High School in Lovington, NM. His early days in Tucson were spent working for Sam Levitz Furniture, exploring the desert, and entertaining his friends and family with his irascible wit. Mike was an avid explorer of all things, but had a special passion for music and electronics. He had knowledge beyond compare of the intricacies of computers, audio devices, ham radios, and anything electrical. Mike's greatest love was his wife of 18 years, Shannon Turpin and their son, Isaac C. Collins. Together they forged a loving family of three.  Animals, music, and laughter abounded. Mike is survived by his wife, Shannon; son, Isaac C. Collins; daughter, Cara Caudle; mother, Anna Jane Collins; sister, Becky Collins; brother, Lance Collins and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends beyond measure.  Mike was predeceased by his dad, Ralph and older brother, Danne. A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, July 8, 2017 at 5:00 p.m. at the Inn Suites Tucson Foothills located at 6201 N. Oracle Road. Family and friends are welcome to share in good memories of Mike.
