Willard EUSTICE Obituary

EUSTICE, Willard 87 years old, passed away peacefully on July 7, 2017. He was born in Oneonta, New York. Will graduated in 1948 from Oneonta High School. He was drafted as a southpaw pitcher for the Boston Red Sox organization. Following an injury to his shoulder, he was released from the Red Sox and attended the State University of New York at Oneonta to receive his Bachelors degree and received his masters degree at the University of Michigan. He began his teaching career at the Oneonta Junior High and later moved his family to Tucson, Arizona where he taught math at Palo Verde and Sahuaro High Schools. He was also the freshman baseball coach at Sahuaro. He loved his family, friends, golf, gardening, home improvement and enjoyed baking Christmas cookies for his wide circle of family and friends. He loved to return every summer to his home on Colonial Ridge golf course in Laurens New York, and enjoyed the warm winters in Henderson, Nevada. Will is survived by his wife, Marilyn Schmid Eustice; daughters, Cynthia Eustice, Carol Eustice Crow and Lorraine Eustice; sons, Robert Eustice his wife, Karen Eustice and Scott Eustice, his wife, Lisa Eustice; Marilyn's daughters, Diane Schmid Dorman, her husband, John Dorman; Lori Schmid Chancellor, her husband, Kent Chancellor and brothers, Harold and Merle Eustice. Also surviving him is his former wife, Lucy Joy Eustice of Tucson, Arizona. He was "Pop" to 17 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren. He loved his family with a deep sense of fairness, integrity and sense of humor. Will is preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Mable Eustice; siblings, Jeanette, Edna, Robert and Mable, as well as his beloved son, Brian Eustice. A Celebration of Life was held at the University United Methodist Church, Las Vegas, NV on Thursday, July, 13, 2017 at 10:00 a.m. The family is suggesting that donations be made in Will's name to either the University United Methodist Church, 4412 S. Maryland Pkwy, Las Vegas, NV 89119 or the Laurens Presbyterian Church, 3 Main Street, Laurens, NY 13796 (attn: Nola Henry).

My Uncle Willie - So many fond memories - family gatherings(whether in Oneonta, Laurens, Crumhorn Mt. Lake, Michigan, or Tucson). Thanks for the fishing lessons & trips to the White Mts. & hunting trips to the Chiricahua Mts., & so many other exciting experiences & family get - to - gethers. My Love & Condolences to Aunt Lyn, & Aunt Joy & all my cousins & their families. You are in my thoughts & prayers.

Mr. Eustice and Mr. Battle were my Algebra teachers at Saguaro High. They were two of my favorites.....Mr. Eustice was always a great teacher and always respected by the students......even by those of us that were long haired hippie freaks!

Mr. Eustice was one of my favorite teachers at Sahuaro. I was a bit of a hellion, but since I loved math, he worked with me. My condolences to his family. He was a wonderful teacher.

Carol Eustice Crow Dad always sad we were the best thing he'd ever done. Dad provided us with a wholesome life filled with love,faith in God, rich experiences and good moral foundation. He was my hero.
