William GREENE Obituary

GREENE, William Robert 3/21/1942 - 10/29/2016 Billy was one of my many brothers and the one I learned from the most. I learned compassion from him - when I saw him weep over a strayed pregnant dog that had been hit by a car. He stayed with it till it died and then buried it. I learned to be a giver as he was always helping the down and outers. Many times he provided me with work to help with my income. I learned work ethics, when as a teenager, I walked off from a cleaning job that Bill had me do and at 11:00 p.m. when he got off work he went over to do it right. I learned these things from Bill, as my father passed away when I was only four years old. Billy became a role model. We all have good and bad sides and Billy had them both, but he was my brother. Love, Paul

That's a beautiful tribute to your brother, Paul. I remember a similar story about the dogs. Is there an obituary somewhere? Or, could you feel comfortable contacting me at: [email protected]? If you do, please put your name, or his, in the subject so I don't think it's junk mail. Sorry to hear of his death.

I have had so many wonderful memories ofmy Uncle Billy. When we were teenagers we spent many Friday and Saturday nights together playing Trivia Pursuit, enjoying pizza and watching recordings of Highway to a Heaven episodes. We also spent many nights at Ft Lowell park together having yummy food and competitive volleyball games. I remember Uncle Billy putting on a chewbaca costume and taking us trick or treating through the neighborhood, he always had such a big heart. When I got married and had my own kids he would spoil them too at the plant nursery. He always let the boys pick out plants and never charge them. He helped us in making our yard look pretty. Uncle Billy will be greatly missed but I'm thankful for the memories made with him. He had a heart of gold and always had a big hug to give us girls. ❤from his niece~Joy

To all the Greene family, in general, and Todd and Adam, especially;

Uncle Billy will be sorely missed. In 1970 something, he gave me my first Arizona succulent which I replanted in a huge pot and watered daily. Two big no-no's for a succulent. It didn't last long. I recently bought another that I know to handle with better care. He loved his family. Was always smiling and laughing when I saw him. That's the way I will remember him. A real Tucson cowboy. Love to all. Sally

Bill Greene, I loved to hear him laugh when he and Paul would share memories. He was my brother too thru Paul and I had a special place in my heart for Bill.

An excellent tribute. Sounds like the writer is the type of person to pass Mr. Greene's gifts along.
