Donald Alexander Norris

Donald Alexander Norris 74, very early on Sunday morning, July 6th, 2008 slipped from the loving arms of his family to the waiting arms of Jesus. He was born in Cleveland, Ohio on September 10, 1933 to Donald O. and Minnie C. Norris. After graduating from Rocky River High School, he attended Ohio University for two years before enlisting in the US Army. After basic training, he was one of a select group chosen for the top secret missile training program at Ft. Bragg. He remained with the missile program, assigned to the White Plains, N.Y. site until his discharge in 1956. He then continued his education in Mechanical Engineering at the University of Arizona. Don had three successful careers in his life; ten years with U.S. Electrical Motors as a systems engineer, 15 years as a Midas Muffler franchisee with shops in Tucson, Phoenix and Las Vegas, and the past 15 years as a custom knife maker. He is survived by his loving wife of 48 years, Rosemary, his adored children son, Donald A. Jr. (Luanne) and daughter, Cheryl Lynne (John) Nelson; seven grandchildren who were the joy of his life, 2nd Lt. Ryan Nelson, Steven, Alyssa, Sean Nelson, Michelle (Scottsdale), Daniel, Tommy Norris all of Tucson; brother, Douglas C. Norris; nephews, Christopher (Betty) and Jason (Stephanie) Norris all of Las Vegas, NV. A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, July 19th beginning at 12:30 p.m. at Westward Look Resort, 245 E.
