James Taylor Obituary

NORTHPORT | James (JT) Taylor, age 76, of Northport, died March 4, 2015, at home in Bonnie's arms. Visitation will be 2 p.m. Sunday, March 8, 2015, at Magnolia Chapel Funeral Home North with Rev. Al Fox officiating. Magnolia Chapel Funeral Home North directing.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Mary Taylor; father, Audley Taylor; brother, Cecil Taylor; sisters, Nena Winager, Rogene Roller, and Mary King; and son, Chris Taylor.
Survivors include his wife of 34 years, Bonnie J. Taylor of Northport; two daughters, Robin Lambert (George) of Tampa, Fla., and Rochelle Taylor (Barbara) of Tampa, Fla.; two sons, Ryan Taylor (Kelli) of Northport, and Scott Taylor (Donya) of Northport; a precious sister who he loved with all his heart, Elizabeth Roberts of Gate City, Va.; grandchildren, Lance Taylor, Logan Taylor, Baylee Watson, Blayne Watson, Dallas Taylor, Dylan Taylor, Jake Lambert, and Mark McGowan; and one great-grandchild, Charlee Taylor.
JT was born August 28, 1938. He was raised in the Gate City, Va., and Kingsport Tenn. area. JT moved to Los Angeles, California in 1957 where he went to work in the textile business. He moved to Tuscaloosa in 1969 to work for Butte Knitting Mills. He managed Steven Fashions in Carrollton, Ala., until he opened his own business in 1978 where he worked until he retired in 2003.
JT's children and grandchildren will always remember him for his witty sayings and all the advice he gave.
JT enjoyed going every day to meet his friends to talk about world affairs and football.
Thanks to all JT's friends at the Moose Lodge 804 and Bill's. There are too many to list. JT loved people.
A very very special thanks to his life long friend, John Haynes (Nettie) of Kingsport, Tenn. John called and talked to him every week. Their house was our home away from home.
Thanks to Charles Potts who he enjoyed shooting the breeze with (as JT would say). Jeff Johnson a good friend to JT who always looked out for him.
Thanks to Leonard Hudson (Sherri), Rayford Hudson (Cathy), Kenneth Hudson (Michelle), Ann Robertson, Julia Hudson, and Nellie Hamner for always praying, being concerned and always there for JT.
Thanks to neighbors for all their thoughtfulness and prayers.
Thanks to Mike Smith, David Kelly, Lou McGee, Kenny Free Rocky Wycinski, Charles Adams and Jeff Sullivan for all their help during JT's illness.
A very special thanks to Dr. Curtis Tucker for his care, compassion and honesty over the last three years. He and his staff were wonderful.
Thanks to Hospice of West Alabama, Lisa, Roxanne and all the staff.
JT will be missed greatly by his little puppy, Zoey, whom he loved dearly.
Any food please give to a needy family or an old person who is not able to cook or doesn't feel like it.

Uncle Jimmy , you will be missed so very much by all we loved your sense of humor I could listen to you and mom talk telling story after story about all the things you all did growing up and then some . You always put s smile in the face of everyone you met. Even though we had differences I hope you know I loved you with all my heart and I sm sorry I didnt tell you that before u passed.pkease tell mom how much I miss her and love her .
