So many of my childhood memories include time spent at the Nehring household. They were like my second family, and Mr. Nehring, a second dad. Whether it was helping Liz and I build our latest and greatest tree fort, hosting a bonfire, going to Indian Princess, picking peas in the gardens he tended so caringly or skating on the pond he so painstakingly made perfect ice for us...Mr. Nehring was always involved, kind and funny.
He was always out in the yard doing something. Planting, weeding, mulching, raking. Sometimes I would find him over in our yard doing little things. He just loved to be outside and active.
I, like many, loved him so much...and he will be greatly missed. I hope you find comfort in all the wonderful memories. God Bless you all.

To The Nehring Family,
May you find comfort in the memories of your Husband \ Father.
My memories include Mr. Nehring ALWAYS in his yard doing yard work every weekend. He set a high bar that we - as your neighbor - could not compete with.
If I remember correctly, I think I saw my first electric lawnmower being pushed by Mr. Nehring. He was green before it was fashionable.
I also remember his pipe.
Finally I remember how I used to think he was a giant when I was a little boy. He was the tallest man I ever saw.....
God Bless.
