Harvey PARROTT Obituary

Died October 15, 2015 of natural causes at his St. Paul, MN, home. He was 73. Cremation has taken place. Harvey was born September 9, 1942, in Mpls, MN, the son of Harvey and Bertha (Carlson) Parrott. After graduating from Mpls South High Class of 1960 he joined the Navy and served honorably on the USS Champlain during the Cuban Blockade. When he returned home he attended the MN School of Business earning a degree in accounting. He then began his career with the State of MN Tax Dept. where he worked until his retirement. He also served in the US Air Force Reserves from 1976 to 1993. Harvey was an avid reader, sports fan, and trivia whiz. He was a very kind and generous man to his friends and family. He will be missed. He is survived by his brothers, Bill Parrott, Mpls, Frank (Jan) Parrott, Mpls; sisters, Shirley (Richard) Saleck, Eau Claire, WI, Barbara Swenson, Bismarck, ND; and 25 nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Verna Hauge; sister-in-law, Janna Parrott; and brothers-in-law, Glenn Hauge and Steve Swenson. Burial will be held at 1:15 pm Friday, October 30, at Fort Snelling Assembly Area 4, 7601 34th Ave SO, Mpls, with a Celebration of Life to follow at Arcade Phalen American Legion Post 577, 1129 Arcade St., St. Paul, from 2:30 pm – 7:00 pm.
