The Kemmers

My beloved Aunt Dorothy passed away 9 days ago, and much like she did in life, Aunt Dorothy brought us together and reminded us how important family is. Aunt Dorothy was a second Mom to me and my three brothers. She was my Mom’s, Suzanne, identical twin. Aunt Dorothy loved and advocated for the Kemmers, as if we were her own kids. We were so lucky to have her cheer, whistle, love, support, and pray for us.
Our main comfort is that Aunt Dorothy is now at peace being reunited with her husband, my Uncle Dick, and her brothers, my Uncle John and Jim, and her parents. The Kemmers, Conlins and Haens have always been close and have banned together to love and support each other during this difficult time. Aunt Dorothy, I am grateful for your love and humor, and making us all better human beings.

I grew up with Dorothy and Suzanne in Renville, Mn. We were the best of friends all through 12 years of school. The notice of her death was sent to me by another friend who also knew her all through school. I am so sorry for your loss and for the loss of a very dear friend.

Dear Family of Dorothy: We were so sorry we could not make it to the funeral, due to the weather and us coming from Brainerd. We have wonderful memories of Dorothy and Dick. Now they are together. Such a shock to hear of her passing. We will miss our dear, dear friends, however, our great memories will be with us. We will be sending a memorial in Dorothy's name to Abbott Northwestern Heart Transplant division.

We are so sorry for the loss of Dorothy. To lose a loved one so unexpectedly is doubly difficult for all of you. She was one of a kind---a good sense of humor, and a "saying" for every occasion. She will be greatly missed. Our love and sincere sympathy to all her family.

To John Conlin and family:
We know John, Christine, Jack and Sami well from youth sports and school. The Conlin siblings and parents we have met on an occasion or two. One thing that jumps right out at you when you meet a Conlin is the warm, loving, laughter-filled spirit; quick with a handshake; and a look-you-square-in-the-eyes with a "darn glad to meet you" attitude. This isn't a coincidence among Conlin siblings, but it comes straight from the top and is carried through the generations. As my family says "the fruit don't fall far from the tree". The Conlin family continues to warmly and kindly touch the lives of many people they encounter. We can all learn a thing or two from the Conlin spirit. Knowing the Conlins has changed our lives and has influenced who we are. So much love and goodness, all because two people fell in love. We will keep the entire Conlin family in our prayers this week. Our hearts are with you during this difficult time. We love you.

What a suprize to hear this sad news. I have many great memories of Aunt Dorothy but the best part of her was her deep laugh. My prayers go to all of you kids, but your parents knew that the torch could be passed because the generations to come have learned and exhibited the values they taught. Love to you all -
