Always remembered.

Well, this is sent a bit late....just came across this today....Todd got me in the first band I was ever in, Streetdoctor, played in his basements. Learned lots back then. I knew Todd for years, but I went off to Duluth many years ago and never really came back...I found out about Todd being gone after all this was said and done by Doug Daubenspeck...
I think what will always leave me endeared to Todd is how he was the kindest, gentlest dude...but man he could bring it if need be, never met a man has physically powerful as Todd, but physically but humanely as well.
It's also something to be listening to Madame George by Van Morrison as I write it. That song fits Todd so well....

Wow...I have no idea what to say. I just stumbled across this today, 5.20.03

First let me offer my condolences to everyone ToddZilla ever touched, be they family or friend. He truly was one of a kind.

I can't claim to have known Todd all that well, which made his warmth, confidence and sincerity all the more endearing. He never minced words, rarely had a cross word for anything, and always made you feel like an old friend. He gave off light...and it's sad that that light's gone out. Maybe enough of the light will be reflected by those who basked in it to keep Todd's benevolence in our thoughts. I just can't believe he's gone.

I met Todd through REV 105. We bonded immediately over our anti-establishment/conspiracy leanings and, of course, our mutual fanaticism for music. Todd came to tons of events and promos. I'd look forward to seeing him. He was 'REV's biggest fan' in the best possible way. When he won the $10, 000 in our 'Share Us with a Charity' contest, I felt like maybe there was justice in the universe. Someone deserving got something good! A rare treat these days.

I sort of lost touch with Todd after REV. I ran into him a couple of times. It's just one of those things you take for granted. I just assumed we'd cross paths every couple of years or so for a long time. Lesson learned.

Todd, wherever you are now, I hope you're dazzlin' 'em just like you always did here. Keep shining that light, brother. It's gettin' dark these days...

Dear Barb, Craig, Carrie, and family,
I'm so sorry for your loss. The world is a worse place without Todd. He was a warm and kind person.
He always called me the Buzzard so I will honor his presence by that name.
Love,

Todd was always there to cheer me up with his impressions (especially his orangutan!) He never missed a chance to play "Beth" from Kiss when he was DJ. I even had the privilege to hear a couple of the songs Todd wrote himself. I will miss him dearly. My sincerest thoughts goes out to Kris, Mrs. Zilla, Carrie, and the rest of Todd's family. He was a good friend.

The thing I will most remember about Todd was his fantastic approach to life. There was always an optimism about him that he passed on to others. His generosity with his love and his friendship will be missed, but always cherished and always held close to our hearts. While we have lost a great man, we are all richer to have had him as part of our lives. Shoby and I would like to extend our deepest sympathy to the Kachinsky family and to Kris.

While not knowing Todd as well as others did, I felt his personality and exuberance through his mother, Barb, one of my best and closest friends. I know Todd was loved dearly by all, and the world was a better place for the time he spent here. To all the Kachinsky family--keep your thoughts of Todd close to your heart and he'll be with you always.

I remember a time not so long ago when the entire family assembled for Barb's retirement gathering in the Minnesota Life dining area. Todd stood up and part of his presentation to his Mom (that has stayed with me always)was "But.....we are the luckiest ones.....we get to have our Mom all to ourselves now!" My deepest, heartfelt sympathies go out to your entire family. I know how close you are and how much you all love one another. I know personally that one of Barb's biggest fears was losing one of her kids...and it haunts me. Todd's energy is just needed some place else now and that is quite an honor.
