Marilyn Roche FRELLSEN

November 7, 1928 - December 29, 2012 Marilyn left this world suddenly, surrounded by her family. She suffered a massive brain hemorrhage in the morning and was gone by early afternoon. Marilyn leaves a heartbroken family: her husband Ray, love of her life for 59 years; her son Peter; her daughters Sara Kunitz (Jim); Susan Nelson (Rick); Patty Green (Roy). She leaves nine grandchildren: Andy (Laura), Kate and Joe Kunitz; Matt, Mike and David Nelson; Maggie, Carolyn and Charlie Green. Her departure will leave a void in our lives forever. She was a force to be reckoned with, the last of the five Roche girls: Lorraine, Virginia, Pat, Marilyn and Peggy. Marilyn graduated from St. Joseph's Academy in 1946 and went on to attend the College of St. Catherine. In 1983 she received her BA from Metropolitan State University. Marilyn began her career in the MN State Auditor's Office and spent many years as a manager at Control Data. She was a longtime member of Immaculate Heart of Mary Church in Minnetonka and was a Stevens Minister. As a snowbird, she belonged to Holy Family Parish in Port St. Lucie, FL, where she was a Eucharistic Minister and comforted many during hospital visits. Marilyn was a member of the Woman's Club and the Literacy Council of Martin County. She was also a volunteer tutor with 1st and 2nd grade students. Marilyn was an avid reader, a lifelong golfer, a crackerjack bridge player and a superb knitter. She approached the world with love and found joy in her family. Services are Thurs. January 3 at 11:00 AM at Immaculate Heart of Mary Church in Minnetonka with visitation one hour prior AT THE CHURCH.
