I just recently found out that Michael is no longer with us in this life. I used lived 2 blocks away on Greenwood Ave. for 26 yrs. I ate from Michael's a little to often, but always loved walking over for some great cheeseburgers or pizza. I got used to handing out his plowing cards for him for a few years, and he would some times give me a hard time if I didn't stop by and chat. I will always remember the great person he was. I hope Micheal's Pizza remains right where it is, so I can keep stopping in for a chat and some great food. Rest in Peace my friend.

I was talking to my mom this morning and she said her and dad were going to put away the summer stuff this weekend. I almost asked if you were going to come over and help. So strange that you have been gone, and it still doesn't register in my head. Even the last time I came home for a visit, I waited to see your suburban or motorcycle come up the hill. Life is unfair. You are so missed by so many. I wish I could say it hasn't been hard but it has. Corey and my mom miss you so much. My mom talks about you alot. Corey looks lost in thought sometimes and I know he is thinking of you. I love you Mike and I am grateful for the love and understanding you always passed onto others. Thinking of you today and always.

Mike, I came to your place to chat and dig up old memories. I was shocked at the news and felt a great loss in my friend bucket. You were great and I could always depend on you to make me crack a smile. Time goes too fast and it's too bad I waited too long to come by and say hi. I am not sure if you are making a large with everything, in heaven or just relaxing with your feet up. I remember the time we went on the ski trip weekend and had a super blast. Your Missed Mike, One in a million !!!

Well my friend, thanks for all the good times and many laughs. Ice fishing at your folks place up north, canoeing the Brule River at night, trout fishing the Kinnekanic, but most of all thank you for always providing a place on the West Side where you made me feel like I was in my own house. You were truly a good friend and a class act! I will cherish the memories you gave me forever. And to the Coury family. I wish for peace to come to you sooner than later. You are all very wonderful people and deserve the best. Stay strong and know that there are hundreds of people who care very much about you.

Big Don Vivian Donny and rest of Family. I will never forget the great memories of th pizza joint. It was one of the first jobs my family Geno,Bobby,Rosie and I had. Big D the only one you never got to work was Tommy. In the 70's when i worked there Michael was just a worker like the rest of us Dave Hill Paul Galles, Sue Sue, Priscilla, My dear frien Susie [Hotts] Hottinger. Boy did we have fun back then. Don yelled at us all the same. So did Grandma Coury and auntie. I remember going to your house in W.st.paul in between wrestling for Donny and Geno. Vivian would feed us lunch. As Donny Jr. said to me michael will be with Bobby. They can hunt in heaven now. Thank You all for being one of the best memories of my life. I will miss Michael very much. God Bless You all.

Michael,
I Grew up with " Michael's Pizza" in my life. Was more then likely the first Pizza I ever ate! And still the best.My parents used to go out to dances on Saturday nights when we were kids. And dinner was many times a pizza from " Michaels". Those were good times and fond memories I am glad that I had a conversation with you awhile back , where I said you were iconic. Synonymous with the West Side. And as I looked out at your original sign from the place on Concord.(That sign is cool).. And the food...A bit of home ... Always... Take care Mike..And God Bless you and your Family. You will be missed.

Are thoughts and Prayers are with the Coury Family. Michael will be missed. I have so many great memories of Michaels Pizza. On my Wedding Night, after the reception, you know how busy you are talking with people all night and so we didn't eat much. We were on our way home, when we lived on the West Side, and Michaels was still open, we were so hungry, we stopped in, Me in my Wedding Dress, and my Husband in his Tux, ordered a pizza, sat down and it was one of the Best Pizza's Ever!!Thanks for all the great memories:)Rest In Peace Mike:)

To the Coury Family, extended family, relatives, and the many, many friends who loved Mike, our deepest sympathy goes out to you at this very sad time.
I just received Mike's guestbook from a friend, and read every entry and cried. You were loved by so many people!
Mike, it just won't be the same on the West Side without you. I have known you since Jr high and remember walking in the pizza place about 1977, and picking up pizzas from you. We lived right down the street, and it was still warm when I got home. These are wonderful memories.
Your whole family was always kind and loving to everyone they met. They still are.
I stood in shock at the wake as everyone else did, wanting to do something, but I know all I can do now is pray for your family and many friends. The West Side is a very close community and I hope together we can all support your family and lift them up in prayer during this very difficult time. A great many thanks for sharing Mike with us for so many years. It is an honor to know the Coury family.

To my dearest family, some things I'd like to say...
but first of all, to let you know, that I arrived okay.
I'm writing this from heaven. Here I dwell with God above.
Here, there's no more tears of sadness; here is just eternal love.
Please do not be unhappy just because I'm out of sight.
Remember that I'm with you every morning, noon and night.
That day I had to leave you when my life on earth was through,
God picked me up and hugged me and He said, "I welcome you."
It's good to have you back again; you were missed while you were gone.
As for your dearest family, they'll be here later on.
I need you here badly; you're part of my plan.
There's so much that we have to do, to help our mortal man.
God gave me a list of things, that he wished for me to do.
And foremost on the list, was to watch and care for you.
And when you lie in bed at night, the day's chores put to flight.
God and I are closest to you....in the middle of the night.
When you think of my life on earth, and all those loving years
because you are only human, they are bound to bring you tears.
But do not be afraid to cry; it does relieve the pain.
Remember there would be no flowers, unless there was some rain.
I wish that I could tell you all that God has planned.
But if I were to tell you, you wouldn't understand.
But one thing is for certain, though my life on earth is o'er.
I'm closer to you now, than I ever was before.
There are many rocky roads ahead of you and many hills to climb;
but together we can do it by taking one day at a time.
It was always my philosophy and I'd like it for you too...
that as you give unto the world, the world will give to you.
If you can help somebody who's in sorrow and pain,
then you can say to God at night......"My day was not in vain."
And now I am contented....that my life has been worthwhile,
knowing as I passed along the way, I made somebody smile.
So if you meet somebody who is sad and feeling low,
just lend a hand to pick him up, as on your way you go.
When you're walking down the street, and you've got me on your mind;
I'm walking in your footsteps only half a step behind.
And when it's time for you to go.... from that body to be free,
remember you're not going.....you're coming here to me.

Sometimes people are put in u'r life to teach you.
Sometimes people are put in u'r life to love you.
Other times people are put in u'r life to guide you with their wisdom.
Sometimes people are even put in you life to simply be your Friend.
Michael Coury you were all of these to me. You touched my life as you have done for so many others. I will never forget you and you will always hold a special place in my heart.
Thank you Lord for blessing me with such a remarkable soul. I love You like a uncle Mike and will miss having you to go to when I'm in need of a friend and / or advice because as all those close to you know you were great at both.
