Dear Helen Mary, Martha, Cathy, Peter and Joe,
I send you my deepest condolences from Seoul. I offered Mass for Harold here at the Maryknoll Center House, and have remembered you all in prayer. Both of your parents were very special people to me, and of course to my own parents. It was always such a delight to share a meal or a long conversation with Harold, as we did during my last visit to St. Paul. And I will always remember the Masses we had together at your house.
Know you remain in my thoughts and prayers.
In Christ's Peace, Russ

Dear Hughesdon and St Agnes Family,
I have wonderful memories of conversations with Deacon Hughesdon. How very good he was to Monsignor Schuler and all the rectory staff. He was always so filled with joy and interesting thoughts to ponder. Know you are all in our thoughts and prayers.
What a joy to be able to walk among "saints in the making" and glean
from their wisdom and joy. We are drawn to desire that joy that comes from a life well lived in service of our Lord. We will keep Harold and all of you in our prayers.

Dear Hughesdon Families:
Jim and I send our sympathy in the loss of a great patriarch. Your description of his life gave us a picture of a driven and devoted man. We are saddened that you must say farewell. You may be assured that the angels at the alters will be trained properly with his assistance. May your memories brighten your day and bring you comfort knowing you will see him again in the great kingdom. God bless and love to you.

TO ALL OF HAROLD'S WONDERFUL FAMILY. As a man of faith, he found peace and a sense of fulfillment in the Catholic Church that was obvious to us. We hope that knowing the depth of his faith will spread a special peace over you all at this time. Hugs and prayers from the West Coast. Toni and Jim Tschann

I had the profound pleasure of knowing Harold for a good many years, beginning in 1994 and continuing up and until his death. I lived in the rectory at St. Agnes while I was attending UST and he and I became good friends.
Harold taught me the ins and outs to being a proper and good trainer of altar boys, as well as being a proper and good master of ceremonies. For that I will ever give praise to the good Deacon.
I would like to intimate one small story which will stand out to a oood many of the parish at St. Agnes. Every Easter Vigil, we were privleged to hear Harold read from Exodus about the chariots and charioteers. This became quite the fancy for priests and seminarians to hear, as Harold would be emphatic about this in his English accent.
For Harold's family, I would have you look to Wisdom 3:1-9. For those of us who knew him well, tip a glass of wine, enjoy one last time the ride of the chariots and charioteers and know that Harold has been a good and faithful servant.
He is now with Delores. Exactly where he should be. Rest in Peace, Harold, you've done well.

Harold Hughesdon defined (for me) what the ministry of the permanent deacon is. He was the faithful servant that everyone looked to, reliably, every Sunday, to proclaim the Gospel and to marshall the exemplary group of altar servers. Will always remember how he welcomed me at the Church. And the trip to Rome in 1994 with Monsignor Schuler and Fr. Hogan.
Requiescat in pace!

Harold was a good friend and devoted servant of God. He will truly be remembered by all at Saint Agnes for he gave so much of his time and knowledge to the servers and the Readings of the Gospel. He always made the celebrant at ease, keeping all involved at a steady pace and on time. Everything ran so smoothly with his assistance.

Dear Helen Mary and all the Hughesdon Family,
Please accept our heartfelt sympathies. Harold has been Patriarch of St Agnes Parish and a father figure to us. Thank you for sharing him with us. We have always been uplifted by his readings at the Mass, his precision as Master of Ceremonies, and by so many conversations. A great gentleman has left this earth! We send our love and prayers- The David Turner Family
