My thoughts and prayers to the Godbout family on the passing of Sophia. I knew Sophia thru her daughter Renee. Renee & I went to school, church & Camp Fire together. Sophia was always there to help with Camp Fire. Plus, our church,Jehovah, had a summer camp and Sophia heped us organize and get a great camp together for the kids. My family still talks about the overnight, that was for the leaders at camp, where Sophia cooked a meal in a hole dug in the ground. I think my 5 brothers all fell a little in love with Sophia with that meal! She was incredible and had so much energy. I don't think I ever knew anyone who was so positive. My family loved Sophia and we still talk about our summer camp experiences with her. she will be greatly missed.

I was a front-desk staff member at the Midway YMCA for several years, and saw Sophia on a regular basis when she came for her Senior's Swimming activities. I called her Miss Sophia, and she was a wonderul lady, and always took time to ask me about my life, my kids, and family. She used to pick lilacs for me and put them at the front-desk for me to enjoy, because she knew they were my favorite. When I was very ill for a period of time, and was not able to keep on weight, she would bring me dense, carb-filled food to be sure I had eaten something " of substance. She loved my butterfly tattoos (of course!)She also was flattered that I loved her name so much, thought it so beautiful. She will be missed.
