My sympathy to Allen's family (including the cats). I saw Allen almost every morning as he was just beginning his work day here at Mn/DOT. I knew him through casual greetings. He seemed to be a real friendly man ... and yet, as many of us so often do ... I didn't take the time to know the name of the man I often said, "Good morning" to. I was shocked and saddened to learn he was the man reported in the news of this tragic event. My prayers to family and friends as you try to cope with such a profound loss.

We were so saddened to hear of Allen's death. He was a great help to fellow DOT auditors in states beyond Minn. in our Peer Review program as well audit software advice. He had a wonderful sense of humor. It is a huge loss for his family, Minn. DOT and many others.

I only shared a few moments of his life at the Auditors Midwest conference in Mo. along with Bruce, but they were some I will never forget. He was a special preson with so much insight. I will miss him this year.

My deepest condolences to Allen's family.
I was saddened to hear the tragic news about Allen.

May all the memories he left behind bring some comfort to those he loved at this difficult time. And may the Peace of the Living God, thru prayer guard your hearts and thoughts to help all of you cope without him. (Phil 4:6,7)

Allen's Family, I am so sorry to hear about your loss. I worked with him years ago at Z's Deli and every once in a while I have to laugh about something he said or did when I come across a situation. I never look at plastic silverware the same without thinking about him saying "synthetic flatware". He will be missed by anyone who had the priviledge to really get to know him and understand his brand of humor. Rest In Peace, Allen. Shelly Johnson Bergstrom
