Steve grew up a few blocks from me in South Saint Paul.We played ball hockey in the alley by his house and played softball at Washington Elementary
school together.Steve was the only guy I could not catch when we ran the 600 yard dask at Washington. I often talk about Steve to my two boys.I would tell them about his abilities playing sports and more so his positive and cheerful attitude about life. My boys ,Sam and Jack play a lot of baseball and we train year round now. Steve was an amazing ball player in 3rd,4th,5th and 6th grade. I use a lot of stories from growing up to motivate my boys or other kids I'm coaching. Steve has been and always will be a big part of those great memories and stories.
My heartfelt sympathies to the Zwieg family.

He always talked about them and their accomplishments they were making through out the years. He will be deeply missed and loved. My thoughts and prayers go out to the whole family. With love.

Dear Jan Bob and Zwieg Family,
Over forty years ago you welcomed me into your family. Steve wasn’t much more than a toddler and so much fun. Over the years the family grew and I watched Steve mature. His joy of hockey is fixed in my mind and sad to say the years have let us drift away. But in spite of the time and distance I’ll never forget a beautiful young man and the pride he spread in the family. Our sincere condolences for this terrible loss.

Steve was our neighbor, right next door. He was always willing to help us with physical stuff, like shoveling and landscaping. He redesigned our back yard and did all of the heavy lifting labor.

He was always willing to talk. Very friendly. Instead of talking over a white picket fence, we stood in our driveways. He was always interested in what we were doing.

We moved several years ago. One of my fond memories of our former home is Steve and his family.
