Donald Fenton Obituary
Mr. Fenton passed away Tuesday, Dec. 2, 2014, in Tyler.
He was born Jan. 5, 1930, in East Mountain to Harmon Emmit and Annie Beatrice Richardson Fenton.
Donald served in the USAF for three years. He attended barber and beauty schools in Dallas, and completed advanced training in New York City. He moved to Tyler in 1952 and started Mr. Fenton's Beauty Salon in 1956. He was active with the Rose Festival and was responsible for many coiffures for the Rose Festival queen and court. He was active in civic theater, and also loved music.
Mr. Fenton was a member of Christ Episcopal Church and served as Acolyte director, lay reader, Sunday school teacher and sang in the choir.
Donald was preceded in death by his parents; brothers Elgie Fenton and Rayford Fenton; and sisters, Ara Harrison, Beatrice Webb, Desser Mae Smith, Bessie Wade and Vida Smart.
He is survived by his loving wife of 65 years, Patty; and numerous nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to a charity of your choice.

Nothing I say or write could ever really express how much Don is loved and admired or the sense of great loss with his passing. He brought joy and hope to so many. I am grateful to count him as my friend. As much as Don is loved is the depth of the heart ache we experience with his passing.
