Cody McMullin Obituary

Published by Uintah Basin Standard from Jan. 31 to Feb. 7, 2011.
Cody Earl McMullin was born Dec. 19, 1978 during a Uintah Basin Snowstorm. By the time his mom got to the hospital Cody was so ready to get into his parents arms he was born while his mom still had her cowboy boots on. Cody passed away on Jan. 30, 2011 from an industrial accident at work. His parents are David and Christeen "Chris" Fowles McMullin.
Cody married Karly Monks and later divorced. From this marriage Cody and Karly had a beautiful daughter, Shelbi Helen McMullin. Shelby was and always will be the light of her daddy's life. Cody adored Shelbi and everything he did was for her. They loved to hunt for rocks, play catch, watch movies, ride dirt bikes and sit in the hot tub together.
Cody later had a daughter, Codalyn McMullin, whom he also loved very much. Cody had a heart of GOLD; he would take the shirt off his back for anyone, stranger or friend. He did not hold grudges and always ended each phone call with an "I love you." When Cody made a friend it was a friend for life. He loved the outdoors and spending time with his family. He loved animals and his dog Marvin. Cody had a very close relationship with his mom and put a lot of thought into each gift he would build or buy for her. Cody was all of the nieces and nephews favorite uncle. He would always get down in the dirt and play with them. He was just a big kid at heart.
Money was never important to Cody, he just wanted enough to get by. Cody valued his family above all else. Cody drove truck for a living for C-D McMullin Trucking. Cody loved being able to work side-by-side with his dad in the family owned business.
Cody is survived by his parents, David and Chris McMullin, Randlett; daughters, Shelby Helen McMullin, and Codalyn Coleen McMullin; brothers, Shane (Susie) McMullin, Wayne (Amber) McMullin, sisters, Vicki (Paul) Mitchell, and Lisa (Trevor) Hagman, all of Roosevelt; 18 nieces and nephews whom he dearly loved, and many aunts, uncles and cousins, all whom he loved.
Cody was preceded in death by his grandparents, Earl and Helen Fowles and Marriner and Jennie McMullin.
Life will never be the same for his family or friends and words cannot express our sadness. When we think of Cody we will see his smile and hear his laugh. His memory will live on through his daughters.
Funeral services will be held Fri., Feb. 4, at 11 a.m. at the Roosevelt LDS Stake Center, 447 East Lagoon Street.
There will be a viewing Thursday evening at the Hullinger Mortuary from 6-8 p.m. and Friday at the church from 9:45-10:45 am.
Burial will be in the Avalon Cemetery east of Randlett.
Condolences may be shared at www.hullingermortuary.com

Maybe they aren't stars at all, but rather holes in the floor of heaven which our loved ones look down upon us from. I have so many memories growing up of Cody, I remember it was always Cody, Kale and Rolondo playing in the dirt somewhere, either at one or the others house, at the little Avalon arena or at some 4-H event us older kids where attending. I am so sorry Chris and Dave for your loss and my condolences to Shane, Wayne, Vicki and Lisa. I remember you where all a close group of siblings growing up and I can't see how that could have changed as adults. Just remember and hold dear to you the great memories you shared with him, and enjoy seeing his smile in his girls eyes. You will all see him again one day, this I believe to be true and until then he is watching down on you. Your in my thoughts,

I remember all the words you said to me,some funny, some kind, some wise.
All the things you did for me I see now with different eyes.I remember every moment we shared,Seems like only yesterday or maybe it was eons ago its really hard to say.You are gone from me now. But there is one thing they cannot take away. Our memories we shared together will live on forever.

Dear Dave & Chris, our hearts are broken that you have temporarily lost "Cody". When you and I say "Cody" or "Josh" it brings back mishevious visits to the chicken coop and who knows what else. Life is so fragile and time continues to move on. Our prayer for you is that you will be blessed with the peace of knowing Cody will be fine and so will his girls. Someday soon we will be together again. That knowledge doesn't remove the pain, but it can lessen the feeling of hopelessness. We love you both so. Chris & Carol Sapp

Cody you were truly an azeromd friend at all times. I'll never forget the short time that you and I ran side by side. When I had figured I'd out run everyone else, there you'd be showing me up. I'll never forget the time we were out to dinner and I had a giant hair in my hamburger and the funny face you Made when you discovered it for me. I was grossed out and ready to leave, but not Cody!!! NOthing was keeping you from your prime rib. We sure had fun joking around calling each other and the other drivers, "girlfriend" I think we had the rest of then nervous half the time lol. I know in my heart that somewhere in heaven that there's a big shiny truck hauling water in a far more peaceful oil field with Cody's huge smile behind the wheel.
To Chris and Dave, I truly don't believe there are words that exist to express my sympathy to the both of you. You did a tremendous job raising Cody. I've never met a more honest, and caring man in my 31 years. Every inch of my heart goes out to you and your family. All of the drivers up in this field have expressed their sympathy for both of you. If there is anything that any of us can do....please let me know. Nichelle and I would be more than willing to do anything for your family.
