CONCORD -- Katherine Mamos, 100, of Washington Street, died April 5, 2011, at her home surrounded by her family.
She was born in Constantinople, Turkey, to Mihal and Alexsandra Zera. She was raised in Labova Epirus.
She was a homemaker, raising three children while her husband ran the family store, originally named Rumford Market, later changed to Mamos Market, on North Main St. in Concord.
She was a member of Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church in Concord, member of the Philoptochos Society and the Epirotic Society. She was an avid gardener, great cook and loved spending time with her family especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren.
IN HER LIFE: She was predeceased by her husband, Thomas Mamos, who died in 1965; one sister, Eleni Kallanxhi; and one brother, Kalam Zera.
She is survived by two sons, Gregory Mamos and his wife, Adele, of Concord and Peter Mamos and his wife, Joyce, of Concord; one daughter, Nicki Liolis and her husband, Nick, of Concord; eight grandchildren, Thomas Mamos, Douglas Mamos, Peter J. Mamos, Christopher Mamos, James Liolis, Theresa Mamos, Christine Ryerson and Laura Prewitt; 11 great-grandchildren; and a sister, Parashkevi Kuti of Greece.
The family would like to express their gratitude to Kim Keaton at the Dartmouth Hitchcock Clinic and the CRVNA Hospice House for the exceptional care their mother received.
SERVICES: Visiting hours will be held on Sunday from 2 to 5 p.m. at Waters Funeral Home, 50 South Main St., Concord. Trisagion Service will take place at 4 p.m.
Funeral services will be Monday at 1 p.m. at Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church, 68 N. State St., Concord. Burial will follow in the Blossom Hill Cemetery, Concord.
