SERVICES: Blake was a lifetime member of the Bedford Presbyterian Church in Bedford. A celebration of his life will be held there Saturday, Jan. 17, at 10:30 a.m.Visiting hours will be Friday from 3 to 7 p.m. at the Bennett Funeral Home, 209 N. Main St, Concord.

I am so sorry that you have to endure the pain and sadness of losing a son as amazing as Blake. Blake was a wonderful, kind hearted and brave man who touched everyone's life whom he met, including my own. I wish I was able to turn time around and bring him back to your family as well as give myself the opportunity to have gotten to know him so much more than I did. I was very blessed meeting him a few years ago while he was in Florida. I know I will never forget him and I know no one else will either. I will be thinking of you all today as I have been for the past week. It has been many years since Blake played pop Warner football for me , his memory lives on as the talented defensive safety that helped lead a team to the playoffs at a young age. It was not surprising to me , to see later in life the man and leader he had become.

Words simply cannot explain the heavy heart I feel as I read all about what a wonderful and accomplished man Blake turned out to be. I was a student at Pembroke Academy and fortunate to have you influence my life and direction. I remember those days like they were yesterday with a few of the memories more vivid than others. What I clearly remember is you being pregnant and coming to work each day, giving it your all each day despite being exhausted and having to deal with high school kids who didn't always appreciate you and the incredible guidance you provided. I also remember the joy in your eyes when you brought Blake in to PA to meet your co-workers for the first time. Given the fact that I am now 30 years older than those youthful, innocent days and can barely remember what I went to the pantry for at times, I'm certain that these memories of you are clear in my head 30 years later for one simple reason: you made a positive impression on me. I was happy to have known you and grateful for the confidence I placed in your guidance. Way back when, I had visited your house with other friends of mine who were/are good friends with Jeff. In any event, my sincere and heartfelt sympathies to you, Bill, and your entire family while you endure the pain this loss brings. May all the memories help to ease that pain.
I leave you with this... it is very obvious that you two are great parents and have had the same positive influence on your own kids as you did on others. You're truly remarkable people. Feel proud. The world needs more folks like you...and like Blake. Respectfully, Brenda

I have lost my church brother and there are no words to realize the void he has left behind. Take comfort in knowing that Blake achieved his dream to become a SEAL by the time he was 30 years old. Deeply saddened and shocked to hear of your loss.
I was Blake's first introduction to the Navy Recruiting District Warrior Challenge program, and mentored him in his pursuit of SEAL from summer 2007 until his departure for the Navy January 2008.
Blake from the get go was most impressive and had ALL the attributes I look for in SEAL candidates: exceptional physical and mental fitness, great work ethic, team focus, tolerance for adversity, and a '++' attitude; truly an example for others to follow.
I followed his SEAL path vicariously through others, including active duty SEALs. No surprise to hear that Blake continued his successful path and was 'a great operator,' and 'the guy you wanted with you to train and operate.'
My thoughts and prayers go to him, and to you, family and friends.
I look forward to celebrating his life and accomplishments this Saturday.
