Germaine R. Blazon

ALLENSTOWN - Germaine R. (Laberge) Blazon, 93, died April 30, 2011, at her Ferry Street home after a period of failing health.
She was a lifelong resident of the Pembroke–Allenstown area, born on July 15, 1917, to Dorila and Rose Alba (Martel) Laberge.
A homemaker, Mrs. Blazon ran a small cake business from her home, making cakes for many local weddings, birthdays and graduations. She collected mugs and had an extensive salt & pepper shaker collection. She loved telling people that she personally had never bought a single salt & pepper shaker in her collection.
She was a lifetime member of the St. Therese Rosebush Society and the Ladies of Ste. Anne.
She was the widow of Edward Blazon, who died in 2006 and to whom she had been married 64 years.

IN HER LIFE: The family includes two sons, Robert Blazon and his wife, Bonnie, of Pembroke and Richard Blazon of Allenstown; eight grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; a sister, Theresa Belanger of Pembroke; a brother, Rene Laberge and his wife, Irene, of Allenstown; and nieces and nephews. Germaine was predeceased by three siblings, Simone Croteau, Lorraine Lamy and Percy Laberge.

SERVICES: Calling hours are Monday, from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. at the Petit Funeral Home, 167 Main St., Pembroke, where members of the St. Theresa Rosebush Society and the Ladies of St. Anne will meet at 2:30 for a prayer service.
A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated Tuesday at 10 a.m. in St. John the Baptist Church, Allenstown, followed by burial in St. John the Baptist Cemetery.
