Chester Symes Obituary

MERRIMACK - Chester Alfred Symes, 82, of Merrimack, died Tuesday, Sept. 10, 2013, at Courville in Nashua.

He was born Dec. 21, 1930, in Detroit to the late George and Myrtle (Lister) Symes.

Chester served in the U.S. Air Force during the Korean War. As an electrical engineer, he worked on the Apollo Moon project for NASA.

He was predeceased in 2010 by Faith, his wife of 58 years. Survivors include his children and their spouses, Brian Symes of Portland, Ore., Steven and Jane Symes of Marlborough, Mass., and Carol (Symes) Giede and Dr. Christopher Giede of Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, Canada; nine grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and nephews, nieces and cousins.

Services: A memorial service will be held at 10 a.m. Monday, Sept. 16, at Household of Faith, 30 Merrimack Road, Amherst. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend; a reception will follow at the home residence.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Chester's memory to the Household of Faith, 30 Merrimack Road, Amherst 03031 to support mission outreach and Christian formation ministry.
