He was one of the greatest uncles you could hope for. It was the highlight of my summer vacation every year to come spend time with him. Even when time grew on and I saw less of him I still cherished every moment of being with him. It was like time had never passed. I miss him deeply.

I always enjoyed Sam's visit,s to Oklahoma he was such a fun young cousin. I remember the time he came in the summer it was our usual hot summer, for an outdoor boy he couldn't understand the heat, and we had no more outside that visit he did not want any part of that. I think he had cast on his leg also that must of been terrible for him. I also think it was the last time Phebe and Russell came to visit in the summer. I don't blame you.

One of my favorite memories of Sam was his visit to Oklahoma with Phebe and Russ and Barb when he was a toddler. He and my blonde haired nephew JC were nearly the same age and hit it off immediately. I remember a picture we took of the two of them hugging, cheek-to-freckled-cheek, a couple of blue-eyed, salt-and-pepper twins. Gone way too soon. Prayers for all.
