Roland always had a smile on his face. He loved to joke. Growing up I remember camping on the "Kanc" with the Libby's and Roland always made it fun for us kids. My thoughts and prayers go out to Dee Dee, also to Cindy, Debbie, Alan and their families.

We would like to extend sincere condolances to DeeDee and the family at this time. I missed seeing you both driving by Sunday mornings on your way to church, a weekly reminder good folks lived just down the road a piece...May you find solace in good memories and may they always bring a smile. Roland was a kind man who always had a big smile for everyone. He was quite the jokester! Roland loved his family very much - he was so proud of them.

I learned something last month when Roland was in the Hospital. I was surprised to learn he was Smokey the Bear! Imagine how many kids he got dressed up for and how much they adored "Smokey". I know everytime I see Smokey the Bear I will think of Roland - what an Icon! Always wondered why my brother John called him "Smokey" now and then.

Our thoughts and prayers go out to Roland's family. Especially to Dee Dee. I believe they were married 58 years.

We Commend John and Cindy. They were there from the beginning of Roland's illness and stayed to the end. John did have to make a couple of trips back to Kansas for work reasons, but was here when Roland and the family needed him most.

Cindy is a trooper. She came as soon as she knew her Dad was ill and literaly never left his side. She was there night and day helping her Dad and providing support and courage to her Mom.

I am proud of my "sister" Cindy. She is compassionate and sincere. She has the broadest shoulders of anyone I know. She and John have carried some very heavy loads over the past few months.

I hope the family can find solace in the fact the Roland is now at peace. I bet he is watching over you and saying "thanks for all the good times, the laughs and the many, many years of love".

We will miss "The Old Man of the Mountain"

Love To All,

Robert and Joni Snow

I have many fond memories of Uncle Roland. In the spring time he and my Dad (Uncle Bud) would tap maple trees to collect sap for making maple syrup and they would always let my brother and I help with the process. I would look forward to seeing his smiling face at the annual Turkey raffle when he handed out tickets at the Ossipee Fire Department. I had one of the best childhoods anyone could ask for and that was because of the whole Libby family.

It was a great morning, wasn't it dad. The sun was shining, the view of the mountains was clear and the birds were singing just like you said they would be. There isn't any more "itty bitty", but there is plenty of tapioca and whipped cream. I love you daddy, and my heart is empty, but I see your smile, and I know you are at peace. You can rest assured just like I said. With all my love forever, Cin

My name is Brittany Carter. I am the great grand daughter of roland. My brither Gage and I called him "Big Grandpa." My greatest memory with him was many years ago when Big grandpa and Grandma came down to Kansas for a visit. Big Grandpa was laying on a hammock in the back yard and my brother and i started to cover him in leaves. It was a lot of fun and a great memory. I give him and the family all my love.

My thoughts and prayers are with your family. I always felt welcome when I stayed over when Karen and I were in high school. I was fortunate to see him over the summer, he had the same bright eyes and kind smile that I remembered. He will be missed.

Today I have been remembering the time when my family was leaving to my dads first duty station(I was 7) and gramp was sitting in his kitchen chair joking with me on how I would be moving down south where people talked funny and I was going to turn into a redneck. Love you bamps!
