Luke Capistran Obituary
He was born on Aug. 30, 1995, the son of Charles and Deborah (Sullivan) Capistran.
In addition to his parents, family members include three sisters, Kate, Maeve and Paige; his maternal grandparents, Francis and Pauline (Geoffrion) Sullivan; his paternal grandparents, Cecile (Richard) Capistran and the late Judge Armand Capistran.

SERVICES: A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated Wednesday at 10 a.m. in St. Joseph Cathedral on Pine Street. Burial will follow in Mt. Calvary Cemetery.
Memorial donations may be made to Children's Hospital Boston, 300 Longwood Ave., Boston 02115, or to the Make-A-Wish Foundation, 814 Elm St., 300, Manchester 03101-2130.

Our condolences to you on the loss of a lovely young man. We met Luke about a year ago on the Flames, my sons were his hockey mates. They quickly became friends. One of my sons has been wearing a "Team Luke" bracelet for the better part of a year. Luke touched my family's life and showed us what true strengh was. We are honored to have had the opportunity to meet Luke. Our thoughts and prayers are with you. We will always remember your son as a brave young man with grace, humor, and a true sense of life. I never met Luke or his family. I got a message/link on Facebook from a good friend who no longer lives in NH. I was curious and wound up reading all the messages that had been posted. I don't know how he passed.
I do know that it would have been an inspiration and privelege to have met this young man. I knew right away, just by looking at his picture, that this kid was kewl. I also believe that God only calls the special ones home at such a young age.
To the parents of this young man...I know that words mean nothing right now. No condolences or sympathies can patch the wounds that you now have. Only you can grieve the loss of your son in your own way.
To Luke's immediate family...I know this young guy will surely be missed. I get the sense that he laughed at life and lived it to the fullest. I hope we can see ourselves in that light when we receive our call to come home...hopefully in the distant future!
From what I have read, it sounds like this young man was an example from which we can all learn. I didn't even know him or his family, but I can learn from him to live a better and fuller life. Don't let that experience be lost.
Jesus died at a young age so that we could learn something. I believe Luke did to! Learn what we can learn here so that we can take it with us to the other side. Luke did it...we can do it as well!!

To the Capistran Family , i guess Luke was about 6yrs old when we met. There he was this Little kid Staring at me and my son who was almost 16, well the reason he was staring was because he had seen me and my son before at a few previous games in which i was totally unaware of . You see he saw us at Yankee Stadium at that time we had Friday night home games and so did he and his Dad [Charles] two seats apart and we were, Big Yankees Fans Routing for a win. Well he was in aw of us actually more my son i believe, in the way we carrying on clapping and yelling for the Yankees to win! Well after a few smiles back and forth we said hello and we met formally me and his Dad and my son, who Charles always called Jr. We made friends at one of those games and continued to see each other for the rest of that season and the following season as well. I read of Luke's death on All Saints' Day. I cry with the five of you as well as his grandparents, cousins and friends. I first met all of you at Kyle Simpson's wedding and it was Kyle who told me of the diagnosis and kept me in touch over the months. It was so touching being with you again when Luke was a godparent at the Baptism at St. Peter. I cry with you at his death and can only hope that the support of your relatives and friends will help in a tiny way to offset and maybe even heal the rupture Luke's death must leave in your hearts.
Over the past 40 years I have had to help many parents and siblings as they face the death of a child. In 2006 I had to do so four times just n the parish of St. Paul in Candia; four boys died, aged 6, 7, 13 and 20. I remember them all and I aksed them to go to the gates of heaven to welcome Luke, to help him realize there are other kids there, that they too suffered on earth, that they too were afraid of illness and death, that they too were welcomed by Jesus.
