LAKEVIEW – Paul Robert Davis, 84, of Lakeview, Ohio passed away Friday, January 31, 2014 at his home.
He was born on March 31, 1929 in Venedocia, OH to the late Arthur O. & Ella E. Baumgarte Davis. On January 31, 1964, he married the former Opal L. Gansheimer and she preceded him in death on October 24, 2004. He was also preceded in death by two sisters, Dortha Gossard and Geraldine Smith and three brothers, Donald O. Davis, Eugene A. Davis and Richard G. Davis.
Paul is survived by two children, John (Sadie) Fry of Columbus, OH, and Sally (Kent) Sryock of Oscada, MI, five grandchildren, Michael, Julie, Jeremy, Matt and Stacie, one great grandchild, a sister, Mildred I Wood of Spencerville, OH, a brother, Ronald L. (Linda) Davis of Lima, OH, many nieces and nephews, and special friends, Jon & Kim Doughty.
Paul was a 1947 graduate of Lima South High School. He served in the Army during the Korean War. Paul retired from the United States Postal Service after 30 years. He was a member of the Indian Lake Moose Lodge #1533 and Logan County Friendly Senior Center in Bellefontaine. He enjoyed gardening, fishing and traveling and was an avid sports fan.
Funeral Services will begin at 1:30 pm, Wednesday, February 5, 2014 at Shoffstall Funeral Home, Lakeview. Visitation is Tuesday, February 4th from 6-8 pm at the funeral home. Burial is in Ferncliff Cemetery, Springfield, OH.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given in his name to the Arthritis Foundation.
