CLARK MILLS/WATERVILLE - Martha R. Smith, 73, of Clark Mills and formerly of Waterville, passed away, peacefully with her family by her side, on Friday, December 9, 2016, at Faxton St. Luke's Health Care in New Hartford.
She was born on September 3, 1943, in Glens Falls, NY, a daughter of the late William and Mildred (Briggs) Fessenden. She was a graduate of Glens Falls High School.
On March 14, 1963, she was united in marriage to the love of her life, Marvin Smith. They are now reunited in Heaven, as Marv passed away in 2011.
She is survived by her daughters, Michelle Selden and her husband, Steven, and Melissa Karpovich and her husband, Kenneth; her grandchildren, Ryan Karpovich and Amanda Karpovich (Billica) and her husband, Jared. Martha loved and was loved by many close friends, including Lisa and Jeff Peterson and their children, Lauren (Pie) and Jake, Lynn Curtis, Sharon Stiles, and the Kaiser family.
She was predeceased by her brother, William Fessenden.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, at 7:30 PM, at the Dimbleby, Friedel, Williams & Edmunds Funeral Home, Forty Main St., Whitesboro, with the Rev. Laurie Pauley officiating. Family and friends are invited to call on Wednesday, prior to the service, from 4:30 PM to 7:30 PM.
