Joyce P. Roberts, 88, of Waterville, passed away Thursday, July 24, 2014, at the Harding Nursing Home in Waterville. She was born April 26, 1926, in Sauquoit, a daughter of Paul and Ella Stulo Perkins and received her education in Sauquoit schools. On June 8, 1946, Joyce married Arthur J. Roberts in Sauquoit. He predeceased her on January 9, 2008. Joyce worked in the cafeteria at the Waterville Central School for many years and was affectionately known as Gram by all the kids. She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Waterville where she sang in the choir and was a soloist as well. She was also a member of the Waterville Womens Club for many years. Surviving are two daughters and a son-in-law, Dorothy Nelson, of New Hartford; Paula and Tom Nankivell, of Plains, PA; three sons and a daughter-in-law, Arthur J., II and Beverly Roberts, of Waterville; William T. Roberts, II, of Kirkland; and Kenneth Roberts, of Waterville; sister-in-law, Jean Perkins, of Sauquoit; brother-in-law, Charles Pat Roberts, of Richfield Springs; eight grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a daughter, Robin Roberts; a son, James Roberts; sisters, Lucille Porter, Isabelle Bullock and Jean Russum; and brothers, Jack and Bud Perkins. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday (today) July26, 2014 from the Kloster & Northrop Memorial Chapel at the Burgess & Tedesco Funeral Home, 210 E. Main St., Waterville, followed by interment in the Waterville Cemetery. Friends are invited to call at the funeral home today from Noon until 2 p.m. prior to the service.
