Jane Thiem Obituary
Jane Victoria "Vikki" Thiem, 55, of Clinton, passed away Christmas Day, December 25, 2015, at Faxton-St. Luke's Healthcare Center in New Hartford, after a long illness.
Vikki was born September 7, 1960, in Newburgh, NY, the daughter of Ralph T. and Lilly E.S. (Hofmann) Keene. She was a graduate of Newburgh Free Academy High School and later received her Bachelor's Degree from Marist College. On April 26, 2003, Vikki married Clare David Thiem and they made their home in Clinton, NY. As an optician, she had worked at various locations over her career, including Pearle, Dove Eye Center and more recently, JC Penney Optical. Vikki was a member of Our Saviour Lutheran Church in Utica and served at different times on the altar guild, the congregational council and the Global Mission Committee. She enjoyed reading, crocheting, rock hounding and wine making.
Vikki is survived by her husband, Clare Thiem, Clinton; a sister and brother-in-law, Christine and John Needham, Rancho Palos Verdes, CA; a brother and sister-in-law, Lt. Col. US Ret. Richard and Elaine Keene, Honeoye, NY; her mother-in-law, Gertrude Thiem, Saginaw, MI; sisters-in law, Cheryl Thiem, Saginaw, MI, Julie Myers (and her husband, Stanley), Saginaw, MI; nieces and nephews, Maryann Keene and her husband, Daniel Cronise, Dr. Ellen Keene and her husband, Dr. Mark Dreibelbis, and Shane, Jessica and Spencer Myers; and great-nieces and nephews, Galen, Anna and Elliot Keene-Cronise, and Lena Dreibelbis.
Mrs. Thiem's funeral will be held on Thursday, December 31, 2015, at 11:00 a.m. at Our Saviour Lutheran Church, Utica. Interment will take place in Sunset Hill Cemetery, Clinton. Relatives and friends are invited to call at the Heintz Funeral Home, 10 East Park Row, Clinton, Wednesday evening from 4-7 p.m.
Those wishing may donate to Our Saviour Lutheran Church or to the American Cancer Society in Vikki's memory.
