Mrs. Foppes taught me in 3rd grade at Sauquoit. Although I can't remember the details about most of what I learned (except "potatoes and tomatoes, you add '-es;"), she stood out. I was fortunate to have her as my parents were divorcing - she was kind and understanding at a time when it seemed the world was against me. She was also the first to notice that I was struggling with some work and needed glasses (and I admit that I was not very happy with her on that one for a bit). She was a wonderful teacher, and I remember her to this day and imagine that I always will.
