Olive Edwards, 90, of Deansboro, passed away April 13, 2013, at home with her family by her side. She was born July 5, 1922, a daughter of George and Florence Foster. On June 1, 1940 she married William C. Edwards at her family home. Their loving union lasted 60 years until he predeceased her on August 28, 2000. She was also predeceased by their daughter, Marlene F. Jones, in 1972. She volunteered at the Harding Nursing Home for over 20 years. She was well known for the wonderful cakes she baked and decorated. She was a wonderful mother and grandmother to her four granddaughters and spouses. Along with her 12 great-grandchildren that all held a special place in her heart!! Through the years she had many special family members, very dear friends, and a special life-long friend, Evelyn Colby. Surviving her are her son and daughter-in-law, Dean and Kay Edwards, of Deansboro; grandchildren, Anne and Ron Mackey, of Averill Park, NY, Sue and John Helmick, of Cedarville, OH, Amy Gossin and fianc, Al Parent, of New Hartford, and Becky and Paul Rieben, of Oriskany; great-grandchildren, Emily, Abby, Sammy, and Gracie Mackey, Erin, Kayla and Jordan Helmick, Sara and Andrew Gossin, Marlena, Katie and Derek Rieben. Also, three very special nieces that she always enjoyed spending time with. The family wishes to thank the staff at St. Lukes Hospital, Caregivers and Hospice for their support and help during the difficult time. Services for Olive will be held on Wednesday at 10 a.m. at Bible Baptist Church in New Hartford with a burial in Sunset Hill Cemetery in Clinton. All are invited to call at Owens-Pavlot & Rogers Funeral Service, Inc., 35 College St., Clinton on Tuesday from 4-7pm. In lieu of flowers donations can be made in Olives memory to Hospice & Palliative Care; 4277 Middle Settlement Rd.
