Richard Mucurio Obituary

Richard A. Mucurio, Sr.
Utica
Richard A. Mucurio, Sr., 56, entered into eternal life on Saturday, January 22, 2011, at the Faxton-St. Lukes Healthcare Center, surrounded by his loving wife and children, with the bright rays of the sun shining through his hospital room window. He was born in Utica, the son of Anthony and Dorothy Wagner Brady, and attended both Roosevelt Elementary and Proctor High Schools. On June 5, 1976, he married the former Laura Jean Carvelli in St. Agnes Church, a blessed union of over 34 years. Richard was an over the road tractor trailer driver and was last employed by Humphreys Trucking. He was a communicant of St. Anthony and St. Agnes Church and a member of the Teamsters Union Local 182. Richard was the happiest when his home was full of family and friends. He was a wonderful and loving husband who loved his children and grandchildren with all of his heart and soul. He enjoyed volunteering, along with his wife, in the operation of the concession stand at the Proctor football games, even in light of his illnesses. Richard is survived by his beloved wife, Laura Jean; his mother, Dorothy Brady, FL; a daughter, Jennifer Mucurio and friend, Mike Padilla, Utica; his three sons, Richard and Rachel Mucurio, Frankfort, Vincent Mucurio and Morgan Ropitzky, Saratoga, and Anthony Mucurio and Katie Misterka, Brooklyn; his father-in-law, Anthony Carvelli, Utica; his sisters, Marilyn and Martin Rosato, FL, Cynthia and David Siriano, Barneveld, and Carol Mucurio, FL; a brother, Joseph and Chris Mucurio, FL; his grandchildren, Brook and Korin; his nieces and nephews, Gina and Marisa Rosato, David, Jr., and Christopher Siriano, Stacy Mastrosimone, Nicole and Michael Olsen, Jr.; several aunts, uncles and cousins; and his canine companion, Nyke. Richard was predeceased by his father, Anthony Mucurio, and his mother-in-law, Evelyn Carvelli. Laura Jean and her children are extremely grateful to BreAnna Williams and Robert and Patricia Williams for their love and support, to the staff and nurses at the Faxton-St. Lukes Healthcare Center and to their Dialysis Unit, and to Drs. Eldridge, Tisch and Mian for the care given to their beloved Richard. Richards funeral will be held on Thursday, January 27, 2011, at 9:00 a.m. from the Bentz & Amodio Funeral Service, Inc., 470 French Rd., Utica/New Hartford, and at 10:00 a.m. from St. Anthony and St. Agnes Church, where his Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by Rev. Msgr. Francis Willenburg. Interment will be in St. Stanislaus and St. Casmir Cemetery, Whitesboro. Calling hours for family and friends are from 6 to 8 p.m. on Wednesday at the funeral home. Gone but not forgotten we love and miss you. On line condolences to www.bentzfuneralhomes.com
