Shirley P. Carney, 63, of Beaver Creek Rd., passed away Friday, February 3, 2012 at the Heritage Healthcare Center in Utica. She was born January 27, 1949 in Utica, one of ten children of Joseph and Nelly Humphrey Rende and was a graduate of Madison High School. On February 4, 1967, Shirley married Richard R. Carney in Sauquoit. She had worked at the Waterville Knitting Mill, and then as a CNA for the Lutheran Homes in Clinton. Shirley enjoyed gardening, cooking, reading, doing cross stitching, and watching Jeopardy. Above all, she was devoted to her family and was a loving wife, mother and grandmother who will be dearly missed. Surviving are her husband, Richard; her children, Terrance and Debra Carney of Brookfield, Richard Carney Jr., Kristi and Darren Carrara, all of Saratoga Springs; two grandchildren, MacKenzie and Oliver; and several nieces and nephews. In keeping with Shirleys wishes, there are no services or calling hours. Interment will be private at the convenience of her family. Arrangements have been entrusted to Kloster-Northrop & Bentz Funeral Home, 210 E. MainSt., Waterville, NY.
