Thomas Manogue Obituary

Thomas Manogue
Perkasie, PA
Thomas Tommy or Rex Manogue, of Perkasie, PA, formerly of New Hartford, NY, passed away last week. Tommy was also lovingly known as Corn Dog in Oneonta, Uncle Tommy to some, The Doctor to others, Heir Doctor in Germany and some parts of Belgium, and Tomi in San Miguel de Allende, Mexico. He was the devoted son of Robert and Madeline Manogue; loving brother of Maureen Lee, Amanda Burch, Robert Manogue, Meg Thilmany and Christopher Manogue; devoted brother and friend of Chip Burch; and fun and wonderful uncle to his nieces and nephews, Catie, Hal, Louisa, Libby, Hannah, Carter, Lili, Sasha, Isabella, Teddy, William, Samantha and Finn. He was a 1978 graduate of New Hartford High School and graduated from Oswego State University in 1982. Tommy loved his family most, followed closely by his love of motorcycles. He adored his Main Line nieces and nephews and took great care to bring them his clever perspective and unique spin on life. As a youth, Tommy was a natural athlete. He excelled in every sport he tried. He especially loved skiing, windsurfing and skating. As a young man, Tommy combined his natural athleticism and his thrill seeking nature with his life-long love of motorcycles. Over the years, he became a much-loved fixture on the Motor Cycle "Trials" circuit, a sport of balance, control and endurance. It was his wish that his ashes be left in Oneonta, NY, where he spent many happy summers within his Motorcycle community. He was a loving and compassionate friend whose humor and unique style will provide fodder for stories, laughter and love for a life time. Relatives and friends are invited to Tommy's Memorial Mass at 1 PM, Friday, February 11, 2011, at Our Lady of Good Counsel at 31 Pennwood Road in Bryn Mawr and later to share in a celebration of Tommy's life. Memorial services will also be held in Utica, Oneonta and Perkasie at a later date.

In todays fast paced world of 2022 we would be calling Tom an "Influencer". I´m not a social media guy but I would definitely follow him, that would be amusing. Wherever you are my friend I am thinking of you and miss you.

Tom has been a bright spot in my life, going back as far as I can remember into the Oxford Road School days. He brought so much joy to so many. I can not think of him without smiling or snickering. His laugh, unique language and expression, and mannerisms were precious and contagious. Tahe was a colorful character that we all loved because of his great zest and perspective on everything. Gone but not forgotten, I am sure he is somewhere seeking out the ultimate "hair trail" to ski or ride upon. My deepest heart felt sympathies to the entire Manogue family.

Dear Manogue Family,

Whenever I hear a dirt bike riding through the woods near my home or any where I haved lived since I met Tom in New Hartford, it always reminds me of him. Tom taught me how to ride when we were kids. His athleticism also shone brightly on the soccer field and ski trails as well. We had a great time. I am so sorry about the loss of your beloved, son, brother, uncle...

To everyone that ever knew of this amazing man, I can only think of great times whenever he was around. I knew him from when I was about 8 till the 25 year old man I am today, and still ride motorcycles because of the great times I had with him. His humor and perspective were 1 in a million. I will dedicate my upcomming National Trials season to him, and the wounderful family that he had behind him. I would like to say thank you to him insted of goodbye, I send my thoughts to his family

To the Manogue family-
Though it's been so many years since we swam in your pool, ate lunches around that big kitchen table, and raced around your yard with Meg, Mandy, and the boys, the memories are crystal clear. Those were great summer days and how we wish they could have gone on forever. So sorry to hear of Tom's passing, but from what I'm reading here, it's clear his light still shines. Peace to you all.

Dear Tommy's family-
My school days introduced me to Tommy as he & Bobby sat beside me in homeroom as long as I can remember. Each year, I would walk in our new homeroom and look around hoping I got a good group of kids in the class and never failed...I knew it was going to be a great year when Tommmy & Bobby were in our class. Tommy made us laugh. What good memories he left us with-Gone too soon but never forgotten. I'm deeply sorry for your loss and although I live out of town and won't be able to make the services, I will keep all of you in my thoughts and prayers.
It is so difficult to make sense of life sometimes. I find it ironic that Dan Hubbell, our class president and friend of Tommy's passed away the same weekend. If there are motorcycles and snowmobiles in heaven, we know they will be riding around sprinkling magical pixie dust on those of us they left behind. God Bless

Dear Dr. & Mrs.Manogue
words can't begain to express what a wonderful light Tom(Corny) brought to me. He was not my brother by blood, but he was in spirit. We could talk about anything and everything. The stories he brought to us should have been put into a book. I so loved hearing of his adventures all over the world.
His kindness to his fellow man and all creatures is something we could use more of.
His Light will burn bright forever in my heart and I shall smile everytime I think of him.
In deepest Sympathy to you and all extended family members

I only met Tommy briefly but adored being in his company. In that brief time, he was so happy, so friendly and genuinely a great guy to be around. While I met him on just one day five years ago, I remember his great spirit very vividly--as if I had known him for years. I will never forget Tommy and am so greatful to be a part of his sister's life.
