Nancy A. Matteson, 72, went to be with her Lord on Wednesday, July 22, 2015. She was born in Rome, on September 22, 1942, the daughter of the late Jessie G. and Margaret Wagner Riggleman. Nancy graduated from VVS High School in 1961. Just out of high school, Nancy took a position with the Dairyman's League until 1967. On November 6, 1964, she married the love of her life, Bruce Matteson, in Arlington, VA. For the past 45 years, Nancy has worked beside her husband and sons in their family business, Vernon Dairy. Nancy had also been co-owner of the B & F Milk Center in Whitesboro for many years. She had a love for her community and had served many years as the Town Clerk for the Town of Marshall. Since 2003, she had served on the Fire Commission of the Barton Hose Company of the Deansboro Fire Department as Secretary Treasurer. She supported her local group of churches, The Living Waters Parish. She had served the Parish as Treasurer and other various positions supporting the UMC Church. Nancy always had a big smile that would brighten anyone's day. She will most be remembered as a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and friend. She will be deeply missed by all. Nancy is survived by her beloved husband of 50 years, Bruce; her son, Bruce Matteson, and his fiancee, Janelle Garnsey, of Sherrill; her daughter and son-in-law, Jody and John Scoones, of Deansboro; her son and daughter-in-law, Kevin and Veronica Matteson, of Deansboro; her beloved grandchildren, Nicholas, Jessica, Andrew, and Rachael Scoones, Marissa Rice, and Glen Garnsey; her sister and brother-in-law, Norma and Ronald Wuethrich, of Rome. Nancy is also survived by several half and step brothers and sisters, and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her parents, Jessie and Margaret, and her brother, David Riggleman. Nancy's family extends heartfelt thanks to the ICU Team at St. Elizabeth's Medical Center and the Waterville Office of Dr. Sullivan. Calling hours will be held on Saturday, July 25, at the PaulFuneral Home of Madison from 3:30-6:30 PM. There will also be calling hours on Sunday, July 26, at the Deansboro United Methodist Church, from 1-3 PM, with her funeral service to follow at 3 PM, with the Rev.
