DANIEL HEIEN Obituary

HEIEN, DANIEL Daniel Heien passed away in San Diego on July 30, 2011. Born on November 29, 1952 in Decatur Illinois, Dan and his family moved to San Diego in 1957. Dan attended and was confirmed at Our Redeemer Lutheran Church and graduated from Monte Vista High in 1970. He attended Sonoma State University on a Basketball Scholarship and worked in the floor covering industry in Northern California for over 30 years . Dan was preceded in death by his father Donald and is survived by his mother Dolores, brothers Tim (Ann) and Donald Jr. (Debbie), children, Jason Heien, Deena Morgan, Ashley Holt, Krystina and Kyle Heien, seven grandchildren, several nieces and a nephew. Dan will be truly missed by family and friends for his legendary history lessons and storytelling. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, August 6, 2011, at 10:00 a.m. at Our Redeemer Lutheran Church, 1370 Euclid Ave., San Diego. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Our Redeemer Lutheran Church Bereavement Committee or San Diego Hospice.
