VIRGINIA WICK Obituary

WICK, VIRGINIA LEE ALLSWORTH. January 13, 1920 to August 5, 2012 Born in Louisville, KY to Virginia Perry Allsworth and Albert E. Allsworth, Virginia Lee graduated from Hoover High School in San Diego in 1937. She attended West Chester Teachers College in PA, and San Diego State where she received her Masters Degree in Education in 1956. After a 30 year career as a teacher and guidance counselor with the San Diego City Schools, she retired in 1972. Virginia was a member of DAR and Alpha Delta Kappa. She was preceded in death by her husband, Phillip Forrest Wick in 1999. She is survived by her daughter, Virginia Ann Wick Hagins, her granddaughter, Emily Ann Hagins, her sister, Margaret Dreher, and numerous nieces and nephews. A Celebration of her life will be held at her home in San Diego on Saturday, August 11, 2012, between 3 p.m. and 8 p.m. Interment will be at El Camino Cemetery in Sorrento Valley. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the San Diego Zoological Society or the Alzheimer's Association. For information on Virginia's Celebration of Life, send an e-mail to [email protected].

Very sorry for your loss. Virginia was was my supervising
teacher for student teacher in 1956. She was a wonderful
role model. I later enjoyed working with Margaret at Memorial & San Diego High.
