Dear Jack,
We were so saddened to learn about Nancy in the PACKET. I always admired her for her fortitude, stamina, perseverance and general humanity. Many times she took Rob for outings, including a trip to the Washington Zoo where she pushed him around in a wheelchair. In addition, I enjoyed accompanying her as ballast on lovely sailing outings, where she captained her ship with utmost accuracy.
We still own and rent out the Lee Street house with the possibility that Rob and his bride may move back there from Manhattan if they find jobs in the area. If that happens, he will aready have a history there, remembering that you two lived around the corner with your beloved Alexander, and afforded us all much happiness.
Our prayers for Nancy will continue, and we hope you will visit us if in the vicinity.
Love,
Trudy, Bob and Rob

My Kindred Spirit
Nancy and I are kindred spirits. We are both sailors. She sailed sloops competitively while I sailed square riggers. In her day she was one great sailor. I told her tails of sailing across the ocean. Occasionally we would meet at the Cancer Center to trade hugs and kisses.
Needless to say, I can see her now minding the helm of a white-hulled sloop while sailing into the blue with an eye on the luff, on a reach with the wind on the starboard quarter. Good sailing,Nancy.

My prayers are extended to your family during this time of grief. I know that we all anticipate the time when "death is to be brought to nothing" (1 Corinthians 15:26)

Many memories of Nancy mostly associated with her love of sailing. She spent many happy hours sailing and working on her sailboat, “Time O'Day” and she was always willing to help another sailor who was in need of an extra hand. One year the Potomac River froze solid and I was concerned that the ice would damage my boat which was adjacent to Nancy's. Not to worry, always resourceful, Nancy came to the rescue when she installed an “ice eater” which effectively cleared the ice from around both of our boats. She was truly special. Jack, my deepest sympathy.

So sorry to learn of Nancy's passing. Even though I had lost touch since she left Alexandria, I've remembered her fondly when visting the Washington Sailing Marina. Nancy was such a part of the sailing community for so many years and so enjoyed working on and sailing her O'Day Mariner. My sincere condolences to Jack.

Jack - Grief can be so hard, but our special memories help us cope, as I am doing after the loss of my Janene in March. Be strong for Nancy, my friend!
