Floyd Frizzell
HARLINGEN, TX-Jimmy Floyd Frizzell, 66, passed away Sunday, September 11, 2011 at The Hospice of East Texas in Tyler.
He was born July 10, 1945 in Harlingen, Texas, to James A. and Verne Ryals Frizzell. He attended Harlingen High School and worked as a dragline operator for Jim Frizzell Dragline Service providing dirt excavation, farm and ranch irrigation systems, stock tanks, levee and canal construction and maintenance as well as coastal land reclamation services in the Rio Grande Valley and Texas Coastal areas.
Jimmy was an avid outdoorsman who loved migratory game bird hunting, fishing the Texas coastal waters and deer hunting in South Texas brush country. Upon retirement, he lived briefly in Alvin, Texas and then moved to Yantis to be near family members and enjoy the Lake Fork Area.
Jimmy was preceded in death by his parents, James Albert Frizzell, Jr. and Verne Ryals Frizzell, and his sister Letha Farris.
Survivors include his son, Jimmy Floyd Frizzell, Jr. and Connie of Scurry; daughters Jo Beth Bauer of Harlingen and Marina Simmons of Wichita Falls; brothers, Lynn Frizzell of Yantis and John C. Frizzell of Harlingen; sisters Winnie Arnold of The Woodlands, Joanna Bowles and Don of Emory and Linda Hulsey and Gerald of Guthrie, OK. Also numerous cousins, nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews held special places in his heart.
Family members will gather for a marker placement memorial in Mont Meta Memorial Park at a later date.
Memorials may be made to the Yantis Volunteer Fire Department in honor of all the Texas firemen who have worked so valiantly during this season of drought.

My thoughts and prayers go out to Jimmy's family he was a long time friend. I saw Jimmy about 5 or so years ago and am happy that I did. You never know when it is your time. God bless the all of his family!
