Dear Konrad
I recently read of the passing of your beloved wife, Violet. Violet was younger than I and I did not know her personally when we were all at St. John's. I also read of her brilliant life achievements. My husband and I send our sincere condolences to you and your family. I don't know if you will remember me...Joan Lindsay (nee Hancox) I met you last at St. John's reunion 1986.
Sincerely, Joan LIndsay

Konrad and all the family,
Like many others, I too was saddened to hear of Violet's passing. I recall how you all made me feel so very welcome almost 30 years ago, and how much Vi was a part of everything, both at work and play. She will certainly be missed by all who knew the family, nuclear and at Diachem. The Greville's wish you all well.

A message to Violet... ...from your family Vera & Myroslav, Denise & Lyuba, Boris & Lyuba, Vitaly & Oxsana in Derwinenka, Ternopolska Province, Ukraine.
You came into our lives when it was least expected and forever changed our lives by giving us hope! Thank you for reaching out and touching the hearts of everyone. Your visits brought answers to our prayers- we were not left alone. Your beautiful smile together with embracing us with warm hugs and kisses is what we will always cherish.
How God somehow brought you to Ukraine to find your roots was something our Mother [your Mother's Sister] always said "they will come and find us". We remember the first day you came into our home and seeing your wedding picture on our wall [still hanging 50+ years later] at this time it was the proof that it was your family. Since that time you helped to educate, clothe, and instill hope in our family.
To Konrad and your children, your Wife & Mother, Violet was a beautiful amazing person. Our family in Ukraine is keeping your family in our thoughts and prayers. We love you Violet. May you rest in peace. Bless You.

Dear Konnie, Joe and I are so sorry for your loss. The last time I saw Vi was at your mum's funeral, and we had a long and pleasant chat. Vi was a remarkable lady- an inspiration to your children and grandchildren.

Lorene - My thoughts are with you and your large family as you mourn your mothers passing. She was a fortunate woman to have had the support and assistance of her family in her final years. I know her wellbeing was so important to you. While I never met Violet, I suspect she was the inspiration or the source of your many strengths and talents. You and your family are in my thoughts as you go through the inevitable changes and sense of loss with her passing.

Mr. T, my parents, Jim and Jean, asked me to give you their condolences. The Celebration of Live was terrific....to see photos of Mrs. Tittler and to hear many stories especially from the grandchildren, and, to have so many people attend who were enriched by knowing Mrs. Tittler and your Family. Being able to see yourself, Konrad, Susan, Lorene, and Mark was great.
I will always be grateful for the cherished time I had being friends with the family, and feeling loved by the Tittler Family. I will never forget Mrs. Tittler saying to me she wanted to adopt me (I was at the house so much, I felt like part of the family). She even trusted me to drive her Fiat to Vancouver...if she only knew how petrified I was when I was stopped on the hill of Oak Street, and prayed so hard that I would not pop the clutch and roll down the hill. I do not know if she knew I had only learned to drive standard with the Fiat.
So many memories....going to California with the "Tittlers" was fantastic. Being left at a music festival at Jericho Beach with Mark by Mrs. Tittler after we wondered off...Tyler Cavaglia's mom came to the rescue to pick us up....lesson learned...do not wonder off. Spending New Year's Eve with you & Mrs. Tittler watching a symphony. It was one of my best New Year's celebrations made special by two terrific people. So many more memories.....
All my very best to you and the Family.

Tom and I were shocked to learn about Vi's passing. Jackie and I were saddened to learn of Vi's recent passing.
It has been said that aging is the process of collecting a lifetime of memories. Although it has been many years since we enjoyed the pleasure of her company, the recollection of the annual New Year's morning jogs at the Tittler residence with family and friends, with Vi fussing to ensure there was a generous supply of goodies and mulled wine, is a picture that still shines brightly in our bank of memories. Vi was a warm and gracious lady, and will be missed.
Our sincere sympathy to you Konrad and the family.

Michele,
I was so sad to read of your mom's passing. I have very strong memories of your amazingly, fit mom running around the fields of Daniel Woodward Elementary. When I think of her now she really was groundbreaking for her time and an inspiration for young women. Know that I am thinking of you and remembering her.

Very saddened to hear that Violet lost her battle and is no longer with us. I did not know Violet well but the few times we met enjoyed her company. A very intelligent, charming and a great sense of humour. My condolences to her family and hope loving memories will help them at this very sad time.

My son Mark phoned with this sad news. My former wife, Meralee and I lived across the hall from Kon and Vi in the early 60's on St John's Rd.in Pointe Claire, Quebec and thought we became sophisticated Montrealers by Kon's influence and better people by Vi's. After they had moved to Vancouver, astonishingly, Vi became one of Canada's foremost female distance runners, finishing 4th in the Canadian championships, in the 800 metres after taking a dozen years off to have 4/5 children by that time. She was a warm, good and generous person, a very giving " Mother Earth", all of which recommended her for sainthood, living with Kon.
