I was privileged to be the recipient of the Philip H White Prize back in the mid 1990s and was honoured to have him present it to me in person at UBC. He was a class act and a real gentleman.

Saddened to hear of the passing of Philip White. I was privileged to have attended his classes at UBC in the 1965-1968 period of Urban Land Economics.

Phillip's vision, leadership skill and energy were pivotal in shaping and developing the Faculty of Commerce and Business Administration at UBC in the 1960s and 70s. Those Faculty members who were privileged to teach and to do research under his guidance and care will remember Phillip with deep respect and admiration as our Dean.
