Rogé BELANGER Obituary
June 08, 1954 - September 27, 2012
It is with sadness that we announce the passing of Rogé Belanger after a courageous battle with cancer. Son of Gemma and the late Paul Belanger. He is predeceased by his sons Dorian and Nathan. He will be greatly missed by his children Giles, Maximillian, Cecil, Gabriel, Victor, Celeste, Aurora and their mother Marianne; as well as many family members and friends. Rogé was a long time employee of the Longshoreman Union ILWU 502 and the Longshoreman Westshore Terminals. He was a musician in numerous bands, including Science, and toured internationally with Randy Bachman. A Closed Casket Viewing will be on Thursday, October 4, 2012 from 6:00 p.m. - 9:00 p.m. at Valley View Funeral Home 14660- 72 Avenue, Surrey, BC. A Funeral Service will be held on Friday, October 5, 2012 at 2:00 p.m. at Valley View Funeral Home. The family would like to thank Dr. Shete, the staff at Langley Memorial, Lisa Sutherland and the palliative team for their wonderful care. A special thank you to the many friends who devoted their time caring for him. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Rogé's memory to the RBC trust fund set up in his name, for his children.

I learned with shock of Rogé's passing, and learned too late to attend his funeral.. I worked with him on the waterfront for many years, and gladly attended one Canada Day party at his farm (many years ago now), where Randy & co. showed up to rock the house :) I always considered him family, and will sorely miss his cheery good heart and good attitude. I'm so sorry for his kids, their dad was an inspiring man.

Wayne Diggins and Roge have both left this earth. They were both born in Hotel Dieu Hospital, Windsor, Ont. the same week and remained close friends in both Windsor and B.C. We are thinking of family and friends during this loss.
