It is with great sadness we announce the sudden passing of Brett on Tuesday, September 10, 2013. Brett was a devoted father to Thomas and Lucas and a loving husband of Svetlana. Besides his wife and sons, he is leaving behind his parents Nancy and Dale, sister Tanya, brothers Richard and Curtis, as well as relatives and friends throughout Canada, Serbia and beyond. Brett was an incredible person who loved spending time with his family. He loved the outdoors and cycling. We will always remember his smile. A Memorial Service will be held Friday, September 20, 2013 at 3:00 p.m. at Burquitlam Funeral Home, 625 North Road, Coquitlam, B.C. followed by a reception at Glenayre Community Centre, 492 Glencoe Drive, Port Moody. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Vancouver Cycling Coalition at: https:/bikehub.ca/. Expressions of sympathy can be made at:

Sonny and I want you to know that we share your pain in the loss of a dear husband, father, son, brother and uncle. Brett was taken far too soon from his family and his many friends. We remember well meeting Brett and Svetlana many years ago at Don and Diane's. They were such a happy and delightful couple- so suited to one another. You are in our thoughts and prayers. My heart goes out to Brett's family and friends. I've worked with Brett for over 20 years. He was an outstanding worker and an even better person. He was always cheery, helpful, gracious, and fun to work with. No matter how bad it got, Brett kept his cool. He will be greatly missed.
