Sing Kwan So

Sing Kwan So November 13, 1927 - June 24, 2014 Sing Kwan So passed away peacefully on Tuesday June 24th, 2014 in Vancouver at the age of 88. He was born in Kwantung province, Pun Yue village, Tai Bo Lee, China on November 13th, 1927 and moved to Hong Kong in 1946 where he worked at a pharmacy. In 1963 he immigrated to Georgetown, Guyana and started his own grocery business. He arrived in Canada in 1969 and started Wing Hing Co, with his 3 partners. He was involved in many community associations and gave generously of his time. In 1982 he became the Chair of World View Pay TV and then Cathay International Television until 1993. He is survived by his beloved family: wife Young Gook So, Sons David (Ella) and Albert; daughters Jennifer (Ali Amarshi) and Rosanne (Kirk Low); daughter-in-law Dianne King. His grandchildren Gary, Jeffrey, Eric, Megan, Nicholas, Derek and Katharine and predeceased by his son Peter So. Service at Glenhaven Memorial Chapel on Sat.
