The family of Barbara Ball is sad to announce the sudden but peaceful passing of our beloved mother, grandmother, loving companion and friend to many on January 7, 2011.
Barbara was born April 19, 1932 in Long Beach, California and was an only child. Barbara was married to Howard Ball for 30 years until his death in 1985, and lived in many locations during his military career. She was a resident of Camarillo for the last 42 years. She worked as a waitress for most of her life, and her favorite jobs were at the Truck Stop Caf and the Village Mart in Camarillo. She was a dependable, friendly and hard worker. Barbara actively volunteered at the Boys and Girls Club of Camarillo for the past 30 years. She loved bingo, and was an avid sports fan.
Barbara is survived by her loving companion and friend of 15 years, C. Carl Anderson, and her six of her seven children: Beverly Provost (Jim), Karen Lane (Dan), Glen Ball (Patti), Tamy Nelson (Dan), Dana Lowrie (Tim), Brian Ball ( Linda), 17 grandchildren, and 13 great-grandchildren. Barbaras son Jim Gunter passed away in 1996. Barbaras life will be celebrated at 11am on Wednesday, January 12 in the Chapel of the Hills, located in the main building at Conejo Memorial Park in Camarillo. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations in Barbaras name to the Boys and Girls Club of Camarillo, 1500 Temple Avenue, Camarillo, CA 93010. Arrangements are under the direction of Conejo Mountain Funeral Home, Memorial Park & Crematory, 2052 Howard Rd., Camarillo, CA 93012 (805) 482-1959. Barbara Ball and her fellow members of the Auxiliary of the Camarillo Boys and Girls Club are special people who give selflessly of their most precious time for the kids. The seniors are leaving us too soon but they are remembered as being the moms and grandmoms (however there are guys too) to each of the kids. Barbara was a role model for all to follow, although she would be the first to deny such a statement. Our condolences to her family and friendsGod Speed. Laura McAvoy and Sol Chooljian

Barbara Ball was a fine woman. I remember all the times she would come over and visit with my mom and dad. I knew her as a kind and loving person. Few could match her sincerity and kindness. If you wanted a good friend then you would have been blessed to have known Barbara Ball. Her son Glenn was like a brother to me when I was a young boy. Barbara and Carl were a very good couple. My sympathies to Carl, the kids and so many who loved Barbara.

Barbara and I shared a friendship that few people ever have in a lifetime. We were closer than sisters and shared all our good times and bad for 30 years. I love her family dearly as she did mine.
So to you my precious friend I say "Go with God till we meet again"
