Rudy Hinojosa Obituary
Dec. 22, 2010 our beloved Rudy went home to be with the Lord with his family at his bedside.
He was born on Oct. 30, 1958 in Los Angeles, Calif. to Margaret Castanon and Roger Hinojosa. He was a lifelong resident of Ventura County and raised with the Benavidez family.
Rudy's greatest passion was spending quiet time with the Lord, and enjoying the natures of life. He loved to be outdoors. Rudy had a burning passion for music and enjoyed playing the piano for family and friends.
He is survived by son Roger Hinojosa III, daughter April Moreno (husband CJ) and granddaughter Jordan Moreno along with his first love and mother of his children Anita Rodarte. Sisters Rene Urteaga (husband Mike), Regina Gomez and Lorena Hinojosa, grandmother Connie Melendrez and numerous nieces and nephews.
I have fought the good fight I have finished the race and have remained faithful. 2 Timothy 4:7
Services to be held Thursday, Dec. 30, 2010 at 11 a.m. at Conejo Mountain Funeral Home, 2052 Howard Rd. Camarillo, Ca.93012.

To my family.. The last 3 months of Rudy's life will always bring a smile to my face. We spent long nights and days keeping him company, helping where ever we could. Rudy's being sick brought our family closer. Even healing and restoration of relationships through his passing. I will always remember him for his laughter, love for music, his love for April, Jordan, Roger, Gina and Naenae.. and of course the rest of us. He was very appreciative for all of the help we had given and done for him. He expressed to many people how blessed he was to have a family that loved him unconditionally.. I can now picture Rudy dancing and singing for the Lord. Walking the streets with all of our loved ones who accepted Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior. Unitl we meet again.. I spent 52 years on earth with you... And look forward to spending eternity with you. Love you! Susan

Hello Beauty...So sorry to hear about Rudy, all my love & prayers to you, April, Roger & Jorden too. I will always treasure my last visit with him, my birthday last year...breakfast @ the beach, red beer & mimosas...he serenaded me with his beautiful voice & the piano too...thanks so much for handing me the phone...you made that last visit possible. Anita and family , Im so sorry about the passing of Rudy. I havent seen him in many years but he has always been with me , in all the great memories we had as kids , Rudy was the man in charge , someone we all looked up too. So many good times !I used to love listening to him play the Piano ( angel baby )mostly .He was so talented. Im so sorry for your loss . Rudy rest in peace my brother may god be with you always.

To my long time best friend Nae Nae, your lil sista Gina and the entire Hinojosa, Benavidez, Pillado families.....the list goes on. There are too many great memories to list. If it had not been for my big brother Dennis I may have never entered into their tribe. You know they make up 50% of Ventura County. One stand out memory of Rudy...I was 13 at the bus stop to Anacapa Middle School. My closest friends from elementry school moved away, I knew no one. Rudy knew I was Dennis's little sister (that was my name). My thoughts were...He's so cute, and that VOICE. He could have been a radio host. He was an older guy and when he spoke to me every morning my hands would sweat and my heart would almost fly out of my chest. I knew he was messin with me and he had a gorgeous girlfriend (Anita, who was always so nice to me), but it made me feel a little bit better about the whole crappy middle school experience. It's the small gestures in ones life that can enhance your current situation and be a blessing for the rest of your life. I'm sure he touched many lives and for that we are truly greatful. Thank you Lord for your instrument named RUDY!

Well I was never good at saying good-by so i won't.My best memories were at Anacapa being new school new friends and I see Rudy,all dressed to the T's.Got the pants nice an pressed,shoes were so shiney he could see his own reflection!From that moment on I new he would be a friend for life.An then came Baja,where that came from I still don't have a clue.Your in a better place now my friend,you just hit the big time!God Bless you an your family.Baja Romero

I dont know where to start... Uncle Rudy "MY FAVORITE UNCLE IN THE WHOLE WIDE WORLD!"I know you are resting now no more pain or suffering!Im glad you were able to meet my little "WASABI" To the family Thank you all for being there for Uncle Rudy. To My Dad,
Words can't explain how much I am going to miss you. I am going to miss our many adventures, especially always getting lost when I drove. What I will miss the most is when you would call me just to say, "I Love You and make sure you say your prayers at night".
Even though you had your good and bad days I thank God for these extra 3 months that he gave us together.

Anita and Family - Growing up in Montalvo with everyone was a very special time period. Rudy was a big part of those golden memories. He was such a sharp dresser, I remember in Anacapa he was the first guy to wear high-waisted cuffed pants (they were Blue) He wore a perfectly ironed white shirt with it, and proudly wrapped his arm around Anita While escorting her to class. He was so sharp and charming.
He will be missed. Our Love and Prayers go out to you and your family.

I'm saddened to hear of the passing of Rudy . . so many great memories, starting at the Cantons where I first heard Rudy playing the piano and singing "Mi Hermano" clearly remembering how talented Rudy was at such a young age. Ahh yes and Rudy's laugh . . hard to forget his laugh. I believe his laugh may have been contagious. I will keep all of your hearts in my prayers as well as Rudy's hugely extended family, for I know it is your hearts that suffer most. I'm am truly sorry for your loss as well as the loss of a friend.

Rest in Peace Rudy. May God comfort you Anita, Roger, and April and family. May God comfort the Benavidez family. Such good memories of Roger playing football while Anita worried and Rudy urged him on. Remembering how Rudy sang Angel Baby so beautifully at my parents house brings tears to my eyes. The fun Robert and Roger had in Cub Scouts and Boy Scouts will always be with me. Going to school with Rudy was always fun. Rudy brought out the laughter in us all.

Rudy and I shared our teenage years together like brothers...wherever I went, Rudy was there with me. We were partying buddies--going
town to town on adventures. We would drive from Ventura down Route 1 to go to L.A. to see Hollywood Blvd. or Whittier Blvd, then on to his mom's house late into the night, waking up on her floor or couch and hearing three voices in the morning from the kitchen talking about us--his two beautiful sisters and sweet mom. I can still smell that homemade breakfast cooking. We'd visit with them for awhile, and I really would enjoy that time together with his family.
Rudy had a new job every other week. I marveled at his skills to talk his way into these employment places. I always told him he needed to start a school: How to Get a Job in 5 Minutes. He would just laugh. Rudy had the best smile and would light the room up.
We shared good times and bad, but I think the best times were after we gave our lives to the Lord. I remember writing songs and singing them in our church, seeing young people come to the Lord through our testimonies of how the Lord had changed our lives, knowing there is a better life in Jesus. I will miss him dearly, and I know he is in a better place.
To all his family and friends, I am sorry for your loss...and my loss. He was one very special guy.

I had the privilage of meeting Rudy about 10 years ago, we had about a year long relationship, he had a big heart, was funny and very talented on the piano, he taught my youngest daughter how to play the keyboard and me a little also. Rudy will always have a place in my heart, he would make sure to contact me atleast twice a year, just to talk about what's going on in each others lives. Rudy would call me on my birthday every year and I thought of him when my birthday passed and he didn't call, I was so sad to find out that he had passed, and on my birthday.
He loved his family very much, he adored his little granddaughter.
I am sorry for his families loss, I will miss him, and my daughters will too.

Anita, Roger and April it has been sooo very long since we saw you last, but nothing can take away those most wonderful years growing up and attending school with you, Rudy, and your sister Selena with so many unreplaceable joyous times that we think of often and with love in our hearts, as those are the most memorable years of our lifes never to be forgotten. We all loved him, even though we didn't see him often we enjoyed his phone calls and sence of humor, boy he was talker we all enjoyed that. He shared the Lord with us and know that he is is a better place. We will miss you, our Grandson and Nephew, Grama Connie and Tia Rosemary.
