William (Bill) Johnson, 89, of Camarillo, Calif., passed away peacefully on Nov. 15, 2010 with his family by his side.
He is preceded in death by his wife, Helen (Nellie); his sisters, Dorothy, Ellen and a sister at birth; and his brothers, Henry, Albert, Michael, and Richard.
He is survived by his sister, Lorraine; his brother, Harvey; along with his three sons, William, Edward and Robert. He has six grandchildren: Theresa (Johnson) Burgess, Rhonda (Johnson) David, Julie (Johnson) Urbaniak, Michael Johnson, Kacie (Johnson) Watson, Rebecca Johnson; along with seven great-grandchildren: Laurissa, Paul, Helen, Sydney, Grace, Landan, and Alison.
Bill was born on March 20, 1921 in Chicago, Ill. He married Helen Kelly on Jan. 10, 1942, a marriage that lasted over 52 years. He then served his country in Europe during WWII. He moved his family from Chicago, Ill., to Muskegon, Mich., in 1954 and came to Camarillo in 1977. His expertise was in the foundry industry where he spent over 50 plus years retiring from PAC Foundries, in Port Hueneme, as the plant manager for their steel division in 1992. Bill was noted for his love for his family and great humor. He will always be remembered for his continual willingness to give his wisdom and advice, noting that he was never wrong.
A memorial and graveside service will be held at 1 p.m. on Thursday, Nov. 18 at Conejo Mountain Memorial Park.
